Bernie wouldn't care about ordinary posters say about him but he will when his competitors do. Hillary didn't go all out on him and their hatred for each other is legendary. He's not as good as Obama at mending fences, never has been and while he does compromise thats not what he's down for, either. I don't see him accepting a VP from anyone, he wants to be on top. Bernie finally took one step on his "redemption" path for me tonight. Not sure how forgiving people elsewhere will be. A begrudging and irritated preamble to get out of the way that he "endorsed Hillary remember and tried to help." But he volunteered it. Wasn't a question.

If he

a) addresses the crazy fringe pretend Bernie Bots and acknowledges Russian meddling properly and seriously.
b) tries to be a bridge between fractious democrats instead of a lever.
c) releases his taxes properly.

Then I will relax instead of thinking he's just going to be the main entry point for dishonest actors and party infighting.

He's got some way to go on race baggage and some gun pandering but his team and attitude seem to acknowledge that. I can live with his party allegiance carpetbagging because any independent would have to run that way. If Democrats fix the House of Representatives, we wont have to worry much about Republicans pushing a lot of legislation through as the House would be a natural barrier.

With the way demographics are trending, we are looking at the very real possibility that Republicans will find it REALLY difficult to take the House and presidency.

This is of course assuming the House of Representatives is fixed to better represent population, which would also weaken gerrymandering.

One of my major gripes with Bernie has always been that I know he wouldn't prioritize fixing our political system.

LOL at them thinking they are even remotely important.  One time I did actually see NeoGAF pop up on a survey, but this was after shower-gate and I filled in that they should remove that as an information source because of the incident.    Took another survey from the same company months later and it was gone.

To be fair, dissatisfaction with moderation was not uniform and for some quarters of GAF the issue lied with it being too lax and correcting the uneveness towards more sanctions (the same sentiment that "minorities are leaving in droves"). "Better moderation" is sort of that vague promise that can mean a lot of different things to different crowds. It's undeniable though they had some language incorporating some of the common grievances of those who founds moderation suffocating (not treating "junior" accounts as whipping boys anymore).

Perhaps counterintuitively, I actually would agree with those that place more emphasis on the latest Evilore antics (and how poorly it was addressed) as the cause for NeoGAF imploding. The moderation had long turned the place into a powder keg and it had its critics, but I think most people would have continued to suffer it and GAF could continue slowly declining and agonizing. They did put up with it for years after all, and ERA seems to be the living proof they can continue like that.

Why do people pretend that Trump didn’t spend his state of the Union equating all illegal immigrants to violent criminals? The dude excuses the KKK, David Duke, and #both sides the Charleston terrorist attack led by a white supremacist. Despite operating on a platform of national security, intelligence agencies say there is a massive uptick in terrorist acts made by conservatives. Conservative terrorism is currently the biggest security threat to the nation.

Trump has suggested violence and political violence repeatedly at his rallies yet people are like,”the left is scared of something that’s not there and Trump has nothing to do with it.” It’s like everyone is on crazy pills.

The reasoning that Trump hasn’t created a rise in hate crime is kind of crazy given we have actual maga supporters doing acts of extreme violence. That’s not to say Trump is the sole cause of this. You’re right. Hate crime existed before him. But you’d have to be delusional to think his rhetoric hasn’t played a part.

Again, not to say there isn't anything to be critical of Trump about. It is more what exactly are we saying the reality is right now in America?  Are all Trump supporters racist bigots that are going around lynching black people? It is not about whether these people exist, it is whether this is so prevelant that you are almost expecting a lynching by a 'Trump supporter'. And that it is all linked to Trump.

Exactly how many hate crimes can directly be linked to Trump or his rhetoric for instance? All hate crimes are individual cases.

There was division before he was president. No one is blaming Trump for that. He has however taken that division and widened it by using extremely racialized language.

I’m not an sjw. I don’t believe every MAGA supporter is a cartoon villain and I won’t paint them as such, but I also don’t think it’s right to say that Trump’s vulgarity hasn’t led to a more racially tense environment.
