It's the jacket. If he had no jacket it'd be fine. With it at that length it makes him look fat.

I also am not a fan of the pants. He looks like a hobo.

I have to say, it's a bad design all around imo.

Lizardcube makes great games so I’m giving them benefit of the doubt. Wonder Boy REmake was incredible.

I'm fine with the style but I totally understand why people wouldn't be into it, especially for this series. Hope it looks great on a TV.

Still not a fan of the art style, Lizardcube would've been a better fit for a Comix Zone sequel with that style. And that music gets a big wtf... really hope they're doing their darndest to get Koshiro on soundtrack duties.
