Once something has been in your pockets you can order it from the catalogue (those that can be ordered),  so I think people get together and they each drop a bunch of items on the ground and others pick them up then drop them back down. It's a way of filling out the catalogue and getting access to more items.

91 in today's AM, looking like a rough week for turnips on Ohana (with the max topping out at 220, and a high chance for a decreasing trend.) Sorry guys!

Seems I still need to get a tarantula. They'll be gone in May.

You might see one or 2 around your island after 7pm somewhere. Note they are like wasps in that they will attack you but you are knocked out in one shot if you get hit (compared to 2 from wasps if you didn't use medicine to heal the first one).

There was a way to make a "Tarantula island" out of certain Nook Mile Islands but my understanding it has gotten harder due to a new bug (as in the insect) being around and messing up the spawning rate for the Tarantula in the process. If you can find an all bamboo island that still works apparently.

People do the Tarantula Island thing because they are worth 8000 bells a pop normally and with Flick buying them at a higher price if he's around.

BTW check the Switch News Channel, there's a how-to to setup up Pocket Camp connection to get exclusive Nook Catalog items, going to do that later today. Seems like you thankfully don't have to do anything than just setup the connection, and hopefully future events don't do like, miniquest bullshit in Pocket Camp before stuff is unlocked in NH.

With these near-constant updates I feel like... this is "my" "MMO." Like a ton of my friends had WoW and FF14 and played them for years, but I could never get into them... As long as these events aren't as overbearing as Bunny Day (and Nintendo pulled back on that mid-event so they're listening), these events will mean even more long-term engagement than the series already offered.

I dunno #highthoughts

Its crazy to hear that when i got both from the first batch of turnips i ultimately decided to spoil (was like 20 turnips in total so). And its not just you either

I deliberately spoiled the smallest batch possible, and got ants pretty easily. Didn't ever see a fly on it (over days) and then someone took my rotten turnips on Friday. :(

I heard flies only spawn on trash not turnips but that might not be accurate.

Just caught a fly!!

Thanks to Dickie for the trash connect. :P (What happened to your hair btw?!)

I've caught all species of bugs I can possibly catch right now. :win Won't have anything new to catch until May, which isn't too far away. :whew

Still need to catch a Barreleye on the fish side...

Yup see above!

They're also useful as crafting material for some things.

Its not as i was able to get a fly on my turnips. I didn't even know you could get ants until i dumped it near some trees after getting the fly.

I guess rng is kinda rough on that

Btw been posting less but still playing a lot, here's what I've been up to:

- I've been selectively adding bits of road in places of my island to make it easier to run around, but yesterday I took the step of connecting them all together. I've been nervous about too much roads and infrastructure clashing with my traditional AC mindset, but in use roads are immensely useful. Mostly, it lets me run with confidence knowing that there's no flowers in my upcoming path. :P

- Paid Nook 50k bells to move Nook's Cranny a *second* time. The first time I needed it like 5-6 squares back, this time I just need it 1 square to the right... I've temporarily put it in the former spot of Mount Turnip, which I've decided is going to be my "playground"/sandbox area for stuff like this and anything I need to do for events/holidays. My original plan was to move my house up there, but that's probably going to have to wait for a while.

- Nook's upgraded today!! Oh man I can't wait for you guys to get it. I noticed right off the bat it's selling way more expensive things!

- Aside from the Pocket Camp items I'm planning on getting later today, I think I've ordered at least 1x of everything in the Nook Miles catalog... except for a Zen Fence Iron Fence. If that DIY recipe pops up for any of you, please nab an extra for me and I'll make it worth your while!!

- On Monday I got the Amiibo card for my longest-term AC friend, Hopper. Also on Monday, out of nowhere, my least favorite villager Rodeo (who dissed my fashion on day two >:( ) said he was thinking of leaving. BYE BITCH! Instead of "overriding" Rodeo's will and getting Hopper to move in immediately, I instead let him move out naturally. That means an extra day or two without Hopper, but feels like the more AC way to do things. :) Now I have a free spot for Hopper to move into, and zero guilt.

- Got less than 100 spots free in storage already. :/ And I don't have any more upgrades. Hopefully a future update adds extra storage options you can buy, like Secret Storage from the Welcome Amiibo update.

- I've maxed out on ramps and will max out on bridges today... Yesterday I finally replaced my janky-ass log bridge (was my first one) to Nook's with a proper stone bridge. Now all my bridges are consistent. :heart

- I got Dom's picture!!!! My first ACNH villager, my first ACNH BFF, and my first pic. :heartbeat

- Still haven't done anything out of my way with flowers, and might not lol. So much tedium for so little reward...

I figure people are still playing but falling more into the daily AC task stuff, so less to post about. Definitely excited for Earth Day, Leif and Redd!!! :D
