I would say I'm triggered, but the Dodgers aren't making the WS this year.

Baseball is a motherfucker.

You invest 4-8 years of your time watching your team slowly, methodically put  the pieces together to become a contender. Then they turn out the be the Toronto Raptors.

(this comment may or may not have been a metaphor for the Cleveland Indians)

I just hope the White Sox are able to sign Machado or Harper some day. These negotiations have dragged on forever :maf

I am prepared for them trying to spin signing Moustakas as some major victory though...

Almost as bad is when you lose in the playoffs every single year, getting progressively farther and farther, but still losing every single year because the "best pitcher in the game" chokes every single year until he has a permanently injured back and is no longer the best pitcher in the game, and you realize that your championship window with this squad is probably shut forever.

The Astros series really broke something inside of me. Kershaw giving up that 4 run lead, and then the bullpen giving up another 4 run lead later in the game was just the most crushing thing ever. Last year sucked too, but it wasn't as bad.

The Mariners were getting pretty good, but the front office blew it fucking apart to rebuild. Again.

Get ready for more mediocrity in Seattle.

I'm watching baseball games from the last decade on youtube as background noise.

MLB uploaded them all in full length.  :doge

The Mariners were not that great and rode an extremely unsustainable streak of luck to a decent record that still wasn't enough to finish higher than third.

Even if they had signed Machado, Harper and Keuchel that team was not looking great.

Machado signs the biggest deal in history, but doesn't feel like an "all-time" talent.

Maybe I'm wrong, but he doesn't remind me of Albert Pujols, Arod or Manny Rameriz at their peak.

For us that's pretty good. I never said anything about contention.

He's not on their level offensively at all, but he plays a prime defensive position (decently).

He was a complete non-factor in the World Series. Small sample size of course. But that's the most recent memory people have of him.
