In regards to the subject itself: there is no history more romantically rewritten than the history of war. The ideation of heroism in war stories is often distasteful and often misleading. War as a machine produces a spectrum of victims who suffer trauma at the hands of many different oppressors - including the ones they’re fighting for.

At this point in my life I strongly dislike war fiction and prefer the reality of history - however ignoble and inglorious it is. But real history can be hard to find, too.

My biggest fucking gripe about Death Stranding is that it's built on Horizon's engine. There's is so much good progressive shit in that game and Kojima rips that out and puts this soulless fucking misogynistic grey and brown fucking thing onto that sexy ass passion project of a game and now everybody will think Kojima's fuckups are because of the game engine and forget that an excellent game was built on the very same engine in 2017. Dude could've copy pasta'd some stuff onto that same engine and it would be a lot better than what he made. Horizon was so alive and fun and Aloy was such a fun and quirky character. Sam is fine, but he's not Aloy, it's just...ugh.
