Wow HR departments won't instantly fire someone on unsubstantiated allegations about a co-worker #latestagecapitalism

This is actually weird to me, we are living increasingly in a world where massive organizations/governments simultaneously don't give a shit and bow to the public's every whim and it's all completely backward

Everyone protests Ajit Pai fucking over the internet?  Does not give a shit, does it anyway

Everyone protests Britain requiring porn ID and articles 11/13?  Does not give a shit, does it anyway

Everyone protests a random person on twitter saying "haha midgets?"  Fired immediately and blacklisted from employment everywhere

My take was that crews was not talking specifically about biological parents, but more generally about needing positive male and female influences (i.e. love) which is definitely true.

So of course REEE and the rest of the culture warriors decided to misinterpret his words and cancel him.

Fucking idiots.

Gay parents don't love???

Sorta fucked up to think that

“The model used to be admit wrongdoing, show complete contrition, and then we give you a second chance. Now it’s admit wrongdoing and you’re finished, and so the only way to survive is to deny, deny, deny. That’s not healthy — that there is no forgiveness. I do think that at some point it will end with a completely innocent person of prominence sticking a gun in his head and ending it. That’s my guess.”

Still blows my mind that Enzom21 hasn't posted. How many years did he dedicate to Gaf+resetera? Maybe they asked him to prove he wasn't lying about his ethnicity on the discord and he couldn't so he noped out. Surprised he didn't even try to wiggle out of it. Maybe he has alts or something so he doesn't care.

Young men don't know how to treat women. I am approaching 40 and have dated quite a few women from Tinder who are in their 20s.

I am 5'4"

Here are some tips:

If she looks like a model, swipe left. She is only seeking validation.

If her pictures are of her at a party, holding a drink, surrounded by friends, swipe left. She doesn't know what the fuck she wants in life and she will choose a man to impress her friends.

If she has pictures of constant travel, swipe left. She is too high maintenance and probably obsessed with her own experience.

Look for women who do not look like models and show pictures of themselves in comfortable attire. This means she is down to earth, wants someone that makes her comfortable, and doesn't give a shit what other people think. More often than not, these women are single mothers who have enough experience in life to understand what is really important. They understand loneliness and have realistic expectations - most likely she is getting out of a piece of shit relationship and just wants something normal.

Gamergate was a remarkable cultural event within geek culture that has no obvious parallels in both scope and sophistication. I don't mean the personal shit that was the origin, but the strange leviathan that gamergate became with the false messaging and cult-like activities and the strange bot-like identities on twitter. Take any cultural difference of opinion, gamergate was another level. It felt like there was a lot of effort working behind the scenes to push it beyond your normal cultural disagreement.

At the time, I ran an experiment on twitter. I have a basically non-existent presence there. I posted about the hashtag criticizing the movement and instantly, systematically, constantly I was attacked. It was a swarm with a kind of intelligence. I had never seen anything like it.....until the 2016 American Presidential election.

The level of effort and sophistication are similar. Gamergate occurred in 2014. Gamergate could have been an early effort to influence American culture. I have to assume these folks play games, take part in the culture - hell I am sure some of them are members on this forum. Either it was a test run, or something they did in their off-time, for fun.

They are just too similar to me to not be related in some way.

Like, the one thing any developer ever (even someone who's made a dumb little game in BASIC) will tell you is that it's easy to make a game that will defeat you every single time, the difficulty in difficulty is making a game that successfully mimics a fair challenge while keeping the decision making process opaque to the user.

To be fair, he may be speaking about many ResetERA.com favorites where the difficulties are mostly simply alterations to the hit points for the user character and the enemy characters. With occasional "skip" statements inserted into the AI so it doesn't process events as quickly. One of the Call of Duty's once literally told you this was the only difference in the difficulty settings, that Veteran or whatever meant you could only take one, maybe two, shots while the enemies could soak them up and Easy was like the reverse. :lol

Even a game as seemingly complex as Civilization has always done this for its "difficulty" settings. The game is balanced on Prince or King or something I forget. The settings just alter the rates at which resources and stuff acquire.

One of the popular games was this GANG game that someone somewhere got off the internet where you could do things like sell drugs and attack other gangs to make money, after looking at its code I realized a bunch of stuff in it was using random numbers that if I instead stored these values instead in a list you could create a reputation system. But the main thing I wanted to do though the other players seemed to not be as interested in this feature was I created a bunch of legit business features to launder and protect your money from the police who I added as another gang but one that was always malicious unless you bribed them which reduced them temporarily. I realize now I should have required that money to be "clean" before you could give it to the cops. When you were "arrested" the cops took all your unclean money but not your clean. Being the prudent criminal I always cleaned all my money, the foolish others I guess liked having to continue to have purely illegal operations.

When I got into that Nazi-occupation based Role Playing server on Garry's Mod one weekend, I also went about doing this with my bread shops, and secretly funding the criminal groups to distract attention from the fact that I had safe houses producing illegal currency all over the map which I was deliberately wrecking the value of everything in the in-game economy with.

What they banned me from the server for though was from accidentally entering a place "non-Nazis" weren't supposed to go when I got lost in the subway and went up a ladder that led to this area. :trumps

I play Emperor :lol I can win maybe 30% of the time on Immortal. Depends on barbarians   >:(
In V and VI I've found myself often turning off the starting barbarians because they too often are just annoying jerks who destroy Civs and/or City States early on who do nothing to stop them. The AI doesn't take them very seriously for some reason, next thing you know they're rampaging everywhere and you alone have to go clean them up.

A single evidence of a backdoor in 5G hardware would instantly destroy any Huawei business ambition. Strange that we never went past because that state of argumentation (or lack of) you just showcased.
Keep stanning for them. Check's in the mail.

I wish there was a way of knowing how many posters concerned about Huawei's "spying" are hardcore Apple/Samsung/Google fans.
I was actually thinking it would be nice to see which of the IPs in this thread come from China.

So, it seems that RedMercury on Resetera, who advocates mob justice is in fact boredJonathan. A bored and boring white male living in a nice house who tries to pass himself as a victim.  :o

Between that and Enzom21 not being black... What's next ? Maybe we'll learn that Jason Shrier is a motherfucker who laughed at palestinian deaths on some random and shaddy forums. Or maybe we'll learn that the forum owner already insulted someone of being a taco IRL.

Unlike Enzom21, who was probably murdered by a racist cop yelling the "n word" while you're all making jokes, RedMercury's never claimed to be anything but an unfortunate straight white male who is married and with a good life. It's what makes his account perfect for his apologetic activism on ResetERA.com. Sometimes I almost hope he gets got so I can personally applaud whoever came up with that angle.

discovering the (often married and childless) adults who go to Disneyland/world like once a month or more was the worst thing I've ever come across on the internet

I recently left my life back home in San Francisco to move to Tokyo, Japan to start 2 things:

Tokyo Kawaii Club: My subscription business where every month I personally find and send fine folks like yourself the coolest, cutest, and tastiest Tokyo Disney goodies straight from Japan.
Tokyo Kawaii Club Radio: My new podcast where me and my friend Manae Nishiyama discuss the Tokyo Disney parks, review a random Disney show, and give tips for first-time travelers. Then, every other week, stay tuned AFTER the Disney discussion for a bonus Japan-centric episode where I’ll interview fellow expats and other Japanese residents about what it’s like to live in Japan
Tojo wouldn't have allowed this.
