I read this article about how Evan Rachel Wood said the cop in Stranger Things shows red flags of being an abuser in a relationship. Great. Its a decent observation and I'm sure she had the best intentions with that tweet. Twitter, of course gets mad because she disparaged their husbando.

Wood comes back claiming anyone "attacking her" must also be an abuser. She then comes back saying "No no, I didn't mean EVERYONE tweeting at me is an abuser...".

So she contributes to a thread about identifying abusive patterns in a partner by gaslighting.

This is why no one should ever use Twitter ever. Especially celebrities.

Yeah celebs on twitter have either three traits, one is someone is working with that celeb and that aide is also working on their twitter posting super impersonal posts and pictures, usually linking to insta.

The second is the celeb that is very well PR trained and engages well with fans and then does one faux par and is "cancelled"

Any of the shitty things that the wealthy people do with their money (pollution, lobbying, etc) still happens, just as a force of nature or robots or genies something (so that the magic of the button can enforce that no one becomes better off). Assume "a wizard did it" will answer any other questions.

The catch is that if you press the button, after the magical effects take place, a person less wealthy than you is selected at random and given the same choice, meaning that if they press the button your wealth and income will shrink to theirs, and the next person down the line could shrink it even more.

Do you press the button to make everyone equal and risk becoming worse off yourself in the process, or let the status quo stand to protect your stake in it?

Is it more just to make everyone's situation equally bad (but equal!) or to let the injustices of wealth gaps to persist?

Is there a theoretical limit to when we'd expect the wealth differences to become small enough that someone in the chain wouldn't press the button?

Is it less just for someone further down the line to press the button (larger percent of total population is affected)?
