Rogan had Dave Rubin on and Dave brought up Ayn Rand (by suggesting Joe ask Yaron Brook to be a guest). It seems to me that Ruben has been persuaded by Yaron ever since having him as a guest on his show (Rubin Report). If I didn't know any better I'd say Dave has been totally converted over to Objectivism from the way their conversation sounded on JRE. Anyway, Joe gave the Gordon Geko Greed response to Ayn Rand and I don't recall Dave's counter, I just remember my heart sank. I don't get the greed speech scene in Wall Street argument against Objectivism. I saw that movie once many years ago and have no recollection of the context and full meaning of Geko monologue.

Of course he doesn't. Joe is constantly going on about how everything is relative, principles are meaningless, that the key in life is to "destroy your ego" through pharmacological experiences, to get in touch with your pineal gland, etc. In other words, his very surface understanding of philosophy is to set you things in exactly inverse of what at least the surface understanding of Rand is. And of course this means he thinks that it would be in your interest, or benefit the ego, to go engage in self-indulgence and predation on others.

I think Rogan is pretty ignorant of Rand's philosophy. It sounded like he was going off of what he had heard of Rand/Objectivism. I highly doubt he has read Atlas Shrugged.

IMHO Joe is not nearly intelligent as he initially comes off to be. I also believe he is personally biased either for or against guests based on factors I do not understand (maybe subconsciously observed competence or unconsciousness bias). He held zero nuance in regard to the immigrant situation when talking to Duncan Trussell. He just kept raging about the children being separated from there parents..... I ASK What if those kids do not belong to those parents?

What if we should not accept any one putting their child at such a risk? This includes people who are citizens of all races ( I hope somebody would take my child from me if I planned to smuggle them 100+ miles through poor countries and mountainous desert terrain). This is a recent example. Despite people's personal opinions on this matter folks are waking up and starting to crave nuance.

Joe also flip flops on smaller yet relevant issues that ( for me) add up to a picture that is out of focus. EXAMPLE Joe always talks about personal motivation when more conservative guests are on and tends to sympathize with social programs when a more liberal guest is on.

Joe is a comedian/podcaster/martial artist...hardly an intellect....

(I know he always says this himself, but I think he often forgets)

If anybody wants more examples of Joe lacking nuance or of him contradicting himself I would love to research this.

Joe also lives/works in and around L.A. so keep his target audience in mind when judging him.

Rogan shapes a lot of anti-establishment, alt-lite minds, much the way Stern shaped anti-establishment leftists decades ago.

Difference is Rogan is VERY influanceable and that makes him volatile in front of his largish, class-diverse audience.

Until Americans start to take meaningful stands against the bloat and corruption permeating through both parties in Washington, centrist Democrat presidents who do nothing and populist Republican presidents who drag the country towards oblivion are all they deserve.

How many warning signs is it going to take for meaningful action to occur? Kids getting shot up in schools hasn't done it.
