Evilore doesn’t seem to have an actual opinion of his own, he’s basically just parroting whatever his current userbase believes, before the “incident” he was a rabid liberal and now that the only people who want anything to do with him are giant dadservatives he’ll espouse those viewpoints.  This heel turn shouldn’t have come as a surprise since that’s basically how neogaf and resetera have always functioned.  It would be funny if it wasn’t so pathetic.

I don't know about that, yeah there's the paris accord thing but also it got to a point where he posted once every 3 months, and when he did so it tended to be shit like defending his decision to watch Dave Chapelle's transphobia live and when called on it would say fuck off and ban people

I think he's always been center or right

I mean this is a guy who bragged about doing a lot of stuff that was disrespectful towards women and then banned people who dared question him on it

there's been a turn but he wasn't ever rabid liberal

Maybe rabid was too strong of a descriptor, but he was passably liberal for neogaf at the time.

Lore wanted to create a Community like SomethingAwful at the start. But then all his free labor (mods) ended up being liberal and he had to dial it back. His OT turned into an anti-Bush pep rally.

He was a dude that would often lurk and post on OA. So, it’s not like he was adverse to politically incorrect thinking.

ResetEra and GAF have in common that both did nothing when the Russians infiltrated their communities.

My guess is OP and wife goes wild with the screaming (and probably with threats to whoop ass) , daughter screams back, and his neighbors are tired of it.

1. I'm not the biggest fan of being allies with Saudi Arabia, but lets get the following understood. Its not in America's interest to withdraw from the Middle East, and withdraw from our Saudi alliance, despite them being utter dicks.

Why? Geo-politically, the conflict between Saudi Arabia and Iran is probably the biggest keg bomb in the Middle East right now. Israel vs Arab states, that conflict is dead and buried, but both Iran and Saudi Arabia are waging a Cold War, complete with backing rebel fighters, proxy wars, and flooding money and influence into neighboring states. This is playing out in Syria, Yemen, the Persian Gulf, Iraq, and elsewhere. The fierce refusal to allow Iran to attain nuclear capability on the part of Israel and SA?

Cause that firmly prevents the idea of regime defeat for Iran, (a big no no for the Saudis and Israel) and for SA, would effectively mean a race to match Iranian capability, and as you can guess, allowing a nuclear bomb race to begin in the Middle East is not good for anybody, no matter your opinion on American hegemony.

Lets talk about the idea of independent players. The United States is not the puppet master, full stop. You can choose to believe the US is strangling Iran unfairly all you want, but ignoring the existence of the very real players like Israel, Saudi Arabia and their motivations for engaging in conflict is dumb, just as ignoring Iran's motivations as entirely nonthreatening to both of those states is foolish.

Israel. Sigh. Ignoring their reasoning and position on their existence and their motivation for defending themselves, then watching as they undertake the steps needed to secure their own goals and safety, and then acting shocked for "being independent" is stupid. Ignoring Iran pour money, influence into opposing and attacking Israel, then solely attacking Israel for taking the steps for securing itself in defense....if you asked Israel to disarm itself, can you ensure the Arab and Muslim states won't take advantage of that? Can you sit and convince Israel that Iranian rhetoric on its existence is not a threat? Can you ensure a U.S willing to protect Israel no matter what?

If Israel stopped its "aggression", would Iran stop its "aggression"? Can you guarantee it? Can the U.S guarantee peace and stability? Is anyone willing to intervene and prevent it? This goes for Saudi Arabia as well, if you asked the Saudi monarchy to cease its geopolitical aggressive positioning, would Iran stop funding proxy forces in Yemen and Syria? Would it stop its rhetoric on dismantling the Saudi monarchy? Can you ensure it? Can the U.S do so? Would Iran trust the U.S to do such a thing without taking advantage of Iran?

If the U.S walked away from its Saudi and Israeli alliance, would Iran actually step up? Can we really the trust the Iranian government to step up as well? But the Nuclear Agreement?!?

Look,.....hmm....so the original intent of my post was to argue that the U.S is in the right....except....theres a lot of factors going on.....that lead me to be suspicious of Trump's new hardline stance on Iran. I've been reading a few articles from the Right on Iran:
https://www.nationalreview.com/2019/07/us-iran-standoff-trump-has-more-choices-than-previous-presidents/
https://www.nationalreview.com/2019/07/iran-would-be-unwise-to-play-the-long-game-with-trump/

Now, obviously Im not walking into believing the Republicans one iota on Iran, but looking at their arguments and reasoning to support the end of the nuclear agreement, we can see a line into what they believe is going on and how Trump will win.

One, Lets get the Republicans hatred of the Iran agreement on paper, they dislike Obama, they are taking cues from Israel and Saudi Arabia, (both of whom have increasedly begun to flex their muscles, Israel, seeing itself in the stronger position in years, yet fearful of a resurgent Iran and losing international support against Iran, and a new Crown Price of Saudi Arabia with new vigor against its enemies)

Two, so the Republicans have stuck down the Nuclear Agreement. For what? War? Hmm, yes and no...while there is a faction that wouldn't deal with Iran, I think one of the articles below makes a convincing argument for Trump not being particularly war-hungry, and they make a good point. North Korea? Venezuela? Now Iran? He likes looking strong, posturing but hes a coward. Republicans reason he won't go to war, and just wants Iran to bow to him, in the same way North Korea did.

Three, despite Iranian and worldwide voicing of discontent over the U.S sanctions, everyone is playing ball with Trump. Thje article below details how INSTEX, the European mechanism for keeping the Iran agreement alive, does not yet actually help Iran much with the sale of their precious good and money maker, oil. The only goods under INSTEX are humanitarian in nature, which U.S sanctions dont even affect. China, India, South Korea and Japan, major importers of Iranian oil all have reduced oil importing from Iran.

China that major importer of Iranian oil, wouldn't they love to slap Trump through? China takes a third of Iranian oil, except....Trump, waging the trade war, might be less inclined to ease up on China, so China could be throwing Iran to make a deal with Trump easier. Russia? The NationalReview article makes a really good point about Russia...yes Tehran is a ally, but high oil prices spooked by the Persian Gulf tensions and tankers being seized, directly help Putin and Russia get more money....so strangely, Russia might be keen to watch Iran suffer the sanctions, and content to watch tensions increase simply to get that vital oil money, and perhaps not need to compete with Iranian oil even.

Speaking of high oil prices....that mechanism for Middle Eastern influence on the U.S.....is dead. Buried. The death of American oil, that nightmarish fuel that the U.S would have to march across the world for oil, to retain access to that black gold.....no longer is true. Stale, Natural Gas extraction in the U.S has firmly tossed America from that guzzling monster into a exporter and energy independence is here and that means...high oil prices no longer really hurt the U.S. (if not actually benefit it) Who does it hurt though? CHINA.

https://www.aljazeera.com/ajimpact/instex-doubts-linger-europe-iran-sanctions-workaround-190701095202660.html

All in all, the Republican arguments are pretty clear, they see the end of the Iran sanctions as a win-win, with little drawbacks and plenty of benefits, and Iran, despite its posturing, has no chance but to commit suicide or make a new deal with Trump. If they are lucky, the deal simply looks the same for them, just with a new signature. Tbh, looking at it, its pretty persuading from the standpoint of risk and benefits, Iran does not have a chance. And tbh, I can't really support Iran. So....good for Trump the fucker.

Apparently 90% of plastic pollution into the oceans originates from 10 rivers in Asia and Africa. Of which 8 are in Asia, the largest source of it is China.
Ultimately, the Chinese, and some SEA and South Asian countries will decide the fate of the fish.

You can see why Era are such fans of authoritarianism, its because it gives them a shortcut to having opinions without that whole pesky thinking through things for yourself part.

Why is paedophilia bad? Because I'm told it is.
Why is racism bad? Because I'm told it is.

Thinking through the why of that first statement - because children do not have the intellectual capacity to make rational decisions for themselves - should naturally leads you to forgiving a child making an outrageous statement, because they do not have the intellectual capacity to make that statement in a mannered fashion for themself.

Just having a behaviour checklist leads to them being the toxic mess that they are.

If it wasn't certain she had a life outside these boards you'd assume countering bad faith stupidity in most threads is a full time career for her. That is her business on Era and business is good (when she's not trying to troll ME that is and ruining my entire WEEK with her RUDE quips. Ugh. How DARE you, madam) grrrrr

His wife is way more attractive, but I guess he just wants some strange.

I'm always  ??? when I read comment to that effect. I'm by no means an expert on all matters of love and attraction but I would imagine anyone who had any sort of "serious" relationship knows that there's more to it than physical attractiveness.
