Jason even published like 2 (or maybe working on the second?) videogame related books by now. Sure the Dragon's Crown stuff is throwaway (not defending it), but these game sites and hell most newspapers have to live off of fluff just for the chance to get those long form pieces funded at all. Haven't followed Patrick in a long time (I moved away from Giantbomb by the time he joined up), but I would bump into some interviews of his in the last few years so eh, he's had that. He used to dig deep though at least at some point. Sure, now whenever I see something from him it's more commenting on the subject of games or doing streaming, podcasting. Not that there is anything shameful in making a living that way. Whether one enjoys his brand is another thing. Easily accessed, easily avoided. It's whatever.
