Got that electrical engineering degree tho 8)
And you're looking wistfully at carpenters? Enjoy your bones not being ground to dust. :beli

Doing small repair jobs and room makeovers around the house has made me look at it like a fun hobby. I’m sure it’d be different full time but I kinda hold some regret over not considering it at all. Even electrician’s school might not have been a bad idea.

Man, I've never met an Engineer who wistfully imagines being an electrician lmao

This news piece feels kinda disturbing with your avatar, considering what is going on in that very scene.

Anyhow, let's hope for the best for everyone involved.

You know what, I wasn't going to post here again, but before I leave (and yes, I will be requesting a permanent self-ban) people should know why I'm actually leaving.

Anyone who knows me knows that I have absolutely no problem with long, extended arguments, but I do not tolerate ad hominems, and I could already see that this thread was headed down that path again after comments like yours. I've been through that too many times with poli-era, and just in general, interactions here have just not been very pleasant. This is more like the straw that broke the camel's back.

As for your argument about Sanders. It's hogwash. He literally brought up exactly what you talked about, but you couldn't be arsed to look at the full exchange to see that, very much in the same way that I didn't realize how out of context Kamala's quote was, ironically.

Yes, Sanders is flaky on race issues sometimes, but there are other times where he has the best responses on race issues, but that never gets acknowledged here. In fact, I don't think I've seen anyone here acknowledge just how far he's leading the pack on his criminal justice platform compared to everyone else in the field, but that's not surprising.

Anyway, I wish you all well. I really mean that, but I hope that maybe one day this community can realize the kind of toxic, unwelcoming atmosphere it has fostered, because I am personally tired of it.

Cheers. It's been fun.

Last chance chow chow!

I'm now Bire exclusive.

Yeah, carpentry is super cool. Maybe you'll get lucky and be like my brother in law whose wrist just disintegrated from using the nail gun every day and now he can't do anything that involves putting any weight whatsoever on his wrist.  That sure was awesome. Also no medical rocks. Construction workers sure have it good compared to engineers. Also this was at age 26, so only 50 years or so to go not using that wrist.

In this week's episode of Nintarded Delusions.

The most  :brain argument I remember was from those Gamexplain goons. Talking about how Nintendo has better online, because there's too many games on the other platforms to play/receive, so it's more comfortable to only have Tetris and S/NES to concentrate on :brain :brain Also these are the people being moderators for the little that remains of 'normal' game discussion on that site. :juicy

I'm surprised a dude that works at Deadspin would pop off a rapey post a few weeks ago. Considering that Deadspin always points out anytime anybody does anything with Barstool Sports for example. Had this guy written for some other more fratty publication I guess it wouldn't be a surprise, but Deadspin? Way off brand.

Ah... so it is. Yeah the "06" part eluded my eye and I just noticed the month and day. Well in that case it's more than fair to look at how he has conducted himself in the last 13 years since. I mean let's not forget on NeoGAF someone had a tag given to them by a mod that said something like "cheeseburger fucker lol". Maybe as recently as the early 2010s.

I was making $8 an hour during college. For some reason, the grocery store I worked at had a union, and union fees were $25 per paycheck. One week I only worked a single shift (4 hours) because finals. After taxes and everything, I only made $4 that week, or $1 per hour. Fuck unions.
Yep, that's Unions  :trumps

I mean yeah the clickbait stuff is the only way these publications can actually survive. It sucks though. Putting aside the "loltaku" stuff. Jason Schreier has mentioned it himself that there is no way they could keep the site going if they didn't do plenty of superfluous articles. Think it was in a more recent SuperBunnyHop youtube video.

Around 13:20 and then it gets to the expose articles around 15:30

These journos spend all their time on Twitter sniffing their own farts, shitting on their own readership, and jerking each other off on how much of an "ally" they are and how the rest for the world are Nazis. Sucks for them that they can't have a long-lasting career on self-serving, self-congratulatory clickbait yellow journalism.

Why act like assholes when people mention that their clickbait shit gets people pissed off? Even if is a “necessary evil”, most of Gawker generation writters seem wired to pass stuff like this like “decent enough”. For every Jason exposure there is 20 Patricia Hernandez clickbait shit.

Gawker Media is dead, of course. But it’s not dead because it failed; it’s dead because it was murdered by a vindictive billionaire and there existed no legal infrastructure to protect it. When Gawker was murdered in a terrifying blow to freedom of the press, a shocking number of other journalists said the site deserved it: They should have had more decorum, should have been less rude, should have placated the right people instead of making fun of them. What those journalists didn’t say, and what they still don’t say, was that Gawker made journalism better through inspiring new publications and through pushing the legacy ones to be more interesting. They don’t say that Gawker unionizing made conditions better across the industry. And they don’t say that the company’s websites were consistently profitable and beloved by readers, that the business model—publish stories that people wanted to read, supported by advertising—worked exactly as it was intended to.

I don't even know what you're trying to say Sage, what Deadspin did was fucking hilarious.

I think this:

Quote

Is what is deserving of “smelling their own farts”.

Why act like assholes when people mention that their clickbait shit gets people pissed off? Even if is a “necessary evil”, most of Gawker generation writters seem wired to pass stuff like this like “decent enough”. For every Jason exposure there is 20 Patricia Hernandez clickbait shit.

I don't really have anything to add to that other than both variations of  :yeshrug :trumps

If anything, printing unsourced gossipy libel and revenge porn made the entire industry better, and there were no drawbacks to doing that as a business model, other than that one huge fucking one which tanked the company

I know this is going to sound so "high horse"-ish, but that TRoS Projections thread is driving me nuts. People who don't understand how projections/BO work yet commenting on it is such a pet peeve. They're all being so smug about it having low projections when *it's in-line with the last 2 movies*

It's a minor annoyance, I know. I just went ahead and ignored the thread.

Anything that fits their dumb angry white male youtuber narrative

Didn’t work with Joker. Not going to work with Terminator. Attempt number three with new Star Wars movie will surely work!

Wait until they find out more than just white dudes don’t like the new trilogy.
