Was at the Final Fantasy A New World concert tonight. Lovely renditions off FF music done by a scaled down orchestra where the stars of the show are the piano and string quartet.

Loved that the pianist got a solo for Via Purifico from FF10 and the string quartet played a great version of Fight with Seymour, also from FF10. Super cool rendition of Troia from FF4 with just guitar and cello

On a side note is there some theme in FF13 that sounds like Denali's Theme or something? Cause I don't even play the games. I just love the music. And it was another piano solo and I think the conductor said FF13, but I couldn't quite make out the name of the track. It's tough for me to figure out cause the track is not currently on the 2 A New World albums. Maybe you guys can help me out. Or I will edit if I figure it out. Or you know. Maybe you weebs are going to one of these concerts and the pianist will play it and then you can shout at me for what an idiot I am for hearing the name of the track totally wrong.

Can't get enough of this track from obscure RPG Last Armageddon. It's like Italo Disco x traditional Chinese music x Beethoven... and the results are FUCKING AMAZING. Then again I may be like literally the only market for that kinda crossover.

Rasetsu -Alternative- is a PS2 port by Nippon Ichi containing both the original Kogado Studio PC release of Rasetsu and its expansion, Xan, though with changes here and there. The port supposedly isn't that great but the music is nice (same as the PC original) and TAKAMICHI's (Ehrgeiz, Hoshigami) character redesigns are decent, at least when compared to the originals, which are mostly terrible except for Kutsuzawa's cover art.

FF Revival Discs exist: https://vgmdb.net/search?q=revival+disc&field=title I expect Mana Revival Discs soon after they're done with SaGa. Also, these Blu-ray releases don't really offer anything other than convenience. Just a matter of preference.

It should be noted that FF, KH, Mana, and SaGa have had it good when it comes to music releases. Front Mission? Nope. None of the soundtracks have been re-released physically. Front Mission arrange albums? There are none. Front Mission Online is probably the closest thing to one but still.

Edit: FM1 and FMA OSTs were re-released once in 2004 and 2006 respectively, my bad. Still not good enough.

Our man Supradarky is rolling out tracks to his favorite games of last year. I liked this calm ambient track he posted recently. As one of the comments say, it does have some Aquatic Ambience quality to it (Donkey Kong Country 2 track for those note sure. I know it's widely known to those who likely post here, but for the lurkers just in case). Never heard about the game though. That's what I love about sharing music. You bump into things you didn't know before.

Halo: Combat Evolved - Under Cover of Night

To celebrate Halo:CE making its way to Steam. For years I would play through the H1 campaign once a year or so. I've probably gone through it 8 times if I had to guess. My original PC hard copy didn't seem to want to work on my win 7 laptop and I never bothered to see what minor fix I probably had to make. So when my old ass win XP pc stopped working, I stopped playing my yearly campaign run. When I grab a new laptop (current one is in shit shape and 8 Years old) or build a desktop, this will be one of the first games I will play through for nostalgia's sake.

A little bit of calm ambiance. I could never get into Minecraft. Not out of some smug and frankly offensive "autistic durr herr" nonsense or the fact that the loudest Minecraft fans end up in funny to laugh at youtube compilations and are usually kids. I just never liked building anything. Even as a kid I would be like "wow that Lego Star Wars Deathstar sure looks cool", but then when it came to actually building legos as instructed by the manual or just using your own imagination... nothing. Zero fundamental enjoyment.

And yet I still get something out of the game, which is of course the music, since I'm posting it.
