To be fair, this sort of thing is not something borne of nor limited to the gaming community. Lots of people choose not to support companies for a variety of reasons they feel are important to them, and there’s nothing inherently wrong with that; consumers don’t owe businesses anything.

after the trashfire wow expansion, sc2 unceremoniously being dumped, the china shit, and now talk of OW cosmetics and such not carrying over to 2 i'm certainly not in a rush to buy anything from them

diablo 4 fantasy loot shooter is a pretty hilarious idea though. i wonder if that's D4 that was supposedly scrapped before last year's blizzcon or if they canned some other idea in favor of that?

A bunch of the Overwatch 2 rumors say it does have a big focus on PvE, like the first point in that image.

Can't find out anything on if the key developers are four flabby white guys or not though. I'll just assume so for anything I don't like.

While it might also be some of the whining throughout the post, Overwatch 2's thing does seem to have a focus on Tracer (she appears in most of the leaked images), so the seemingly irrelevant story stuff in the post might be because of that too.

I have no issues at all with FPS’s with Diablo-style loot systems, after all Destiny 2 is my current comfy-game. But for me, proper Diablo should always be the “skeleton-click” game.

D3 sold very well, if I remember right it might be one of the all time highest selling of titles.

there was chatter for a bit when people were in full revolt over BFA about wow possibly being at ~1 mil but nothing came of it and blizz doesn't share numbers anymore. however, a wow sub and a classic wow sub are the same thing so that has to have boosted numbers a decent chunk.

I know they did a ton of rework to D3 but I never really liked it that much personally.

I do Kind of see how a looter destiny could be good. I don’t think Diablo is the right skin for it though.

Imo, destinys biggest flaw is that it doesn’t have the loot mechanics of something like diablo where you can get crazy op from some random roll.

Borderlands does a way better job with loot than Destiny imo. And it's just guns, no armor pieces. Another issue. Loot games want A FUCKING PLETHORA OF LOOT. If you don't have pants, your game is a shitty loot game. That's just science.

There are pretty much only two things that could make me completely skip out on D4: first person perspective and forced multiplayer. They already do a bad job of overly incentivizing multi over single play in the end game but it's ok- you can still do most endgame content solo, you're just not gonna be at the top of the leaderboards. Which I guess according to some people means YOU'RE NOT EVEN FUCKING PLAYING A GAME YOU PIECE OF SHIT SCRUB.

It didn’t. List I was looking at was for just the pc top sellers, of which Diablo 3 is listed at 30 million or so. Multi platform it’s much further down the list.

Also: GTAV is a fucking monster, I really don’t get how it has sold so much compared to others in the franchise.
