30 years ago the Berlin wall fell because David Hasselhoff and Ronald Reagan beat the commies.
Us 30 year olds were all born when a new world began. No longer would there be a split between the capitalist west and the communist east.
Everyone would enjoy McDonalds, Knight Rider, Baywatch and many other great products the starving communists masses were denied by their masters.

The great socialist experiment failed. Brought down by heroes and a bureaucrat who accidentally announced the DDR borders were open without delay.

I always found conservative butthurt over colleges/unis funny.

An institute that is peak predatory of the vulnerable, preying on newly minted adults and entrapping them in exorbitant debt by paywalling their hopes of a future and economic mobility behind a 100k loan. Hand-in-hand with large money sharking (lending firms) businesses to offer the kids who can barely consume alcohol legally (in some places) their only path to success for the price of eternal debt bondage.
And using their monopoly position in a sense of that paywall to charge ever increasing costs with optimizing nickle-and-diming (parking and textbooks and oh my) in an exploitation scheme to make any die hard cappy impressed. And use it to fund their own vanity and fat bank accounts. (drop by the admin section of a university and check the earnings of the board, no austerity to be found) And then pretend to be "leftist".
