A messy situation, but it's Kotaku's fault. If you put your trust in a journalists and they tell you that a conversation is off the record, and then they go on ignore that, either because they're shitty at their job, or because #metoo stories have a high click-through (especially ones with "juicy details"), that is deeply violating.

I never read the original kotaku article before it was changed, and i'm certainly not going to read it now and positively reward the site for it's failure.
