We don't even know if lockdowns even work at a certain stage. Those that are living by the current rules probably already work from home and limit their movement if they can. Bars etc. already closed.
I don't see how lockdowns work against the growing number of COVID truth 5G people and/or children in schools who are the problem.

We're stable at approx 9k cases a day now and just a wee bit short of a full lockdown.
This limited lockdown cut around 1k cases daily.

Right, they've got uncontrolled exponential spread again. You see now that they didn't figure out some secret to low spread while keeping the economy open? And I'll go out on a limb here and predict that France will be able to get control of its epidemic faster with a lockdown while Sweden will suffer a much worse impact. Willing to revisit this in six weeks.

I never said they did figure anything out. Again, as I mentioned previously, nothing I wrote was an opinion. Everything was simply what had been reported. Funny thing is, I also posted about the rise in casss reported in the news, which I know you saw because you responded to it.

Interesting thing though is you're making definitive statements on this. I would say it is more complicated than that. Why not, for instance, compare Belgium with Sweden, or my own country with Sweden in 6 weeks? Both have gone into lockdown.

Edit: I will mention as well actually... Sweden's strategy was dubbed the 'herd immunity' strategy, but it was never claimed to be that by the Swedish government. Herd immunity simply being a side-effect of the strategy, one that they believed to be beneficial. The reason for the strategy was to have a long-term sustainable strategy

I don't know. They're tests performed by clinical laboratories. The CDC summarizes the weekly results every year.

This week 24 cases (0.2% positivity rate). Last year this time 428 (2.4% positivity rate)

I hope that isn't the case. It seems to me it is a gamble either way. To keep going into lockdown is to gamble on a vaccine in the foreseeable future. To not go into lockdown is to gamble on a mitigation strategy working to a reasonable degree.

I will reiterate my feeling on this. We can't keep going into lockdown only for it to come back once it is lifted. It is not sustainable and would have disastrous long-term effects. In the UK for instance, we're 2 trillion pounds in debt. We can't can't keep doing it And here's the thing: If there isn't a vaccine and it keeps coming back, at some point we will have to, continue life as normal. We will have no choice but to And if that happens everything we have done previously will have cost us dearly.

That is one scenario. The other I guess is we don't go into lockdown, the second or third wave is worse than before, and the death toll is large. A vaccine comes along not long after.
