Didn't Gearbox release an old build of Borderlands 3 on Stadia? Yeah, here we go:

One of the biggest issues with the Borderlands 3 Stadia port is that it's outdated compared to other versions of the game, missing various quality of life improvements, balance changes, and content updates available elsewhere. And if the Borderlands 3 Stadia port fails to drum up much interest, it's hard to see Gearbox Software seriously supporting it for the long run. Considering this, it's easy to see a scenario where Borderlands 3 on Stadia is constantly lagging behind its console and PC counterparts, making it a questionable investment.

Borderlands 3 is on Mac.. so basically Linux.. probably why they went the extra step of porting to Stadia.

AFAIK its only on Mac because Epic were / are still trying to reclaim some value on their moneyhats
I have no evidence the games that have showed up on stadia have been financially incentivised to do so, other than thats how publishers generally treat new untested platforms

I believe Mac games use something called METAL which is also fairly easy to port to Vulkan, just from what I've read.

Mantle (DICE-EA and AMD made)->Vulkan (Chronos Group replaces OpenGL with it)
DirectX 12 (Microsoft) takes things from it but is it's own offshoot (being an earlier thing: DirectX which competed with OpenGL)
Metal (Apple) takes from it (OpenGL but with Vulkan's programming targets/objectives), but is it's own offshoot IIRC.

So I'm an Advisor for my community college's Anime/Gaming club. We've been in existence since 2004 and I've been in charge since 2008, and over the years we've, of course, fluctuated with the times and focused on various social activities. In recent years there's been a downturn in students that want to join the club since we can't do as many activities as we used to due to Red tape (basically we have to give 3 weeks for larger events before they happen, and 2 weeks for smaller events). Thing is we need students to join us as many of our members will be graduating soon. Since I'm an older Millennial my tastes and views on games and Anime are probably vastly different than younger Millennials and Gen Zers.

So what I'm hoping for here is suggestions in ways to get students active in my club? We already do tournaments for various games, so gamers tend to come to us easily but what I'm looking for is the Anime fans. I've seen a lot of students watching it on computers in the library and in the Student union (commons). So any suggestions on how to create events that would cater to the Anime crowd, or something that we can do, other than "Put on Anime" -we've tried to do that and it doesn't seem to get them to want to come to us.

(For the record we're in the states.)

Just so you know things we've tried:

Ghibli movie -found out we need licensing rights, and the school wasn't willing to pay for it since they already had used that upon other live-action movies
Origami day -Did not attract people, or they didn't get the idea of paper folding (would be willing to try that again if we can get someone to teach it)
Maid Cafe -Was a bust due to the school insisting we use the business that runs the cafeteria and no one likes their deserts, also stuck in a corner room so no one saw us.
Anime Days -Gamers will come in and take over the tvs after about an hour or so since the room we use has to be open to the public.
Japanese lessons -Only club members came and we had too many screwing around rather than learning.

I'm open to suggestions, any suggestions at this point. Keep in mind we're not a huge community college, and the vast majority of the school is Hispanic but there are a lot of anime fans, as I've seen them walking around with plushies and various anime on their shirts. Also, I'd like to get girls to join us as the group is mostly dudes and it would be nice to have equal parts women and men in there.

i don't think too many devs do their own mac ports thes days, that's what companies like aspyr exist to do. blizzard does their own development of mac on wow but no other games, maybe hearthstone. i know unity did add support for metal but not sure about unreal.

of course it would be smart for apple to just support vulkan over metal but that won't happen because they didn't make it.

The issue with Pokemon Home is that all that functionality was available in the base game until recently.

They basically removed a feature that was already there--GTS.

There is a free version luckily, so it's not that crazy. But the value is something I don't get. It's basically paying GameFreak to hold your Pokemon collection hostage lol.

And you need to pay for Nintendo online on top of that.

The Pokemon Company is so damn greedy.  Since Nintendo can't control them. They can get away with this. I doubt Nintendo would allow this if they had full control.

I've reached a point where not having sex really doesn't bother me at all. In fact the notion of dating now scares me a little because most people would expect that to lead to sex and all I really miss is stupid things like cuddling and doing things together that aren't sexual.
