We all want to address the existential threat of climate change which is a threat to the entire planet but especially to those who are impoverished and subjugated. We all want to protect a Woman's right to choose and make it known that autonomy of her body is hers and hers alone. We all want to address the stigmas surrounding mental health, provide services for those who suffer from mental health issues and care for our veterans suffering from PTSD. We all want to find a solution that effectively addresses rent control, deals with gentrification and zoning laws and provides affordable housing to those who can barely afford it or can't at all so those who find themselves homeless can get back on their feet. We all want to protect and expand the hard earned gains of the LGBTQ+ and disabled communities. We all want to take on the NRA, firearm loopholes and end the gun violence ravaging this country. We all want to end the practice of US military foreign intervention and regime change campaigns leading to endless wars and human catastrophe. We all want to hold Wall Street and the wealthy accountable.

Okay, maybe not all of us but certainly the vast majority of us.

Instead of talking past one another and ascribing ill intentions to those who don't agree entirely 100% with you, we shouldn't lose sight of the fact that getting from here to there has never been simple or easy. Change rarely, if ever, comes as quick as we wish it would or it should. It doesn't mean that you can't or shouldn't feel disillusioned with the process or ignore the forces that work against it either. But what we've got to do is stop erasing each other's voices and concerns so we can work together to achieve this shit. Disengaging from the process or giving up isn't an option if you really care about these issues.

This is a country birthed from genocide, founded on slavery, failed through reconstruction, mythologized by exceptionalism, and damaged by religious radicalism and yet still we rise, fighting and hoping for a better tomorrow.

This election and the choices we're faced with isn't what anybody hoped for. Biden is a shitty choice. Bernie isn't much better. We should have and could have done much better. We need to do better. But right now the most pressing issue is the degenerate sociopath complicity murdering thousands of innocent people because his ego is more important than human life and suffering. He must be defeated and we must move leftward.

Hopefully we can do both in November.

You are one of the people that makes this thread exhausting. Don't know if you get brownie points for indicating that this is, indeed, an exhausting thread to follow. There are obvious ideological differences in the way moderates and leftists want to accomplish these goals.

Not going to drag myself down and dignify your antagonistic attack with a response but to this point, nobody has even pretended to claim otherwise.

Again, demonizing people because they don't pass ideological purity tests and threatening to disengage from the process is not a solution.
