This (and the many posts in that thread that are also voicing it) is a great example of the power of rhetoric over history. Teddy voiced it, but barely did anything towards the trusts, he preferred to reach "gentleman's agreements" with them. Taft came in and started actually using the law, and extensively, and that started their rift, especially when Taft tried to break up U.S. Steel which Teddy had an "agreement" with to not prosecute them. But Taft hated the "bully pulpit" and Teddy's fans wrote the history books, so the proto-fascist is the trust-buster hero and the actual trust-buster goes down condemned for his conservatism on the judiciary and law.

Also weirdly nobody in the thread cares about things like how Teddy thought war was good for the soul. Or how after getting criticized he dropped his public support for black civil rights.

Yes I have, currently I have sent an email and will probably write a letter to the Senator's and Representative's local office. If I have time sure I'll make a thread in the next few days.

I have had less success in getting responses back since moving the California yes. I used to be able to reach the now Senator John Hoven but that's due to a weird connection I have with him and even then I haven't spoken to him in 10 years (I grew up in his childhood home which is a...weird way to connect to someone but it worked back in high school). But just because I have had less success doesn't mean I'm not going to stop using my voice. I use emails and letters over the phone, usually it ends with a stock response letter back though.

I've been reading a webcomic for inspiration called Long Exposure (WHICH YOU ALL SHOULD READ BTW), and the artist does this very thing: greyscale panels with color reserved for special moments. Brazilian flag one was an extra late-night hour of tweaking to get it "right." It's also still up in the air anyway, mainly because a friend informed me the alt-right have apparently seized the flag down there in support for Bolsonaro. Kinda doesn't work for a decidedly anti-white supremacy piece. xDD Instead I may look up some black advancement organizations at the time to see if there's anything I can pull from there.

(Fun fact: That is technically not the current Brazilian flag, but the one that would've been used in the 1920s when the story takes place. You can tell by the lower star count.)
