This is just ignorant, Avatar has it's fair share of problems and has become an easy target but from an art perspective they did an excessive amount of world building, probably more than any other movie or creative project out there. How many movies have you seen where just as much thought and attention has been given to designing friggin plantlife as it was for it's characters, locations and vehicles? They designed an entire fictional biosphere, created a design bible lineage of evolution for it's flora and fauna tracking back millennia, you don't find this level of extremely in depth world building in anything else out there.There's a staggering amount of creativity pooled into Avatar, to say "Oh they were just animals with extra legs, lots of world building" is such a slap in the face to the hundreds of artists, paired with biologists, geologists, astronomers that contributed to what is easily one of the most ambitious attempts to fully realize and build a fictional yet plausible alien world in it's entirety, you know, the complete opposite of what you are saying here.
I'm sorry, the suggestions are nice and all but that video pisses me the fuck off. It's purposefully designed to trick people into thinking its something its not, an actual AC update. It's designed to get people mad and angry for trolling purposes. I couldn't watch it half way through in one sitting because of how explotiative it is. Yeah it only happens in the long stair sequence and comes out of nowhere. Unfortunately probably a combination of bad localization and a product of its time. Unless she actually says that word for word in Japanese as well. It never happens again either which makes it more bizarre.
I think it was a localization addition, atleast as far as I can tell playing through that sequence in the apparently more faithful re-translation on PC, it's not there on that.Still don't know why that wasn't removed from the updated console ports tbh.
