There are plenty of people who use WiFi because that’s what works for them, however. And picking on them by giving them a badge of shame kind of sucks—it speaks to a lack of empathy and care on Lab Zero’s part, which is disappointing, and kind of makes me feel less warm and fuzzy about recently reinstalling Skull Girls and settling into it.

I like to play games curled up on the couch with my Switch or my Laptop, and I haven’t yet had room in my money or time budgets to buy a crimper and a big roll of cat6 so that I can run cable under the floor and add a network drop near said couch. I guess I’m not welcome to curl up with Skull Girls until I do so? Bah! I guess I’ll play something else. :-p

Some people live in rural areas that may have overpriced satellite connection plans offered by predatory ISPs, so they connect to the internet from fast food LANs instead. Unfortunately fast food LANs are wireless.

I recently did some work to tinker with my laptop and get it into better gaming shape, and part of the work was to curate a beautiful little list of my favorite games in a launcher. They give me warm fuzzies. Skull Girls was in that list, but it's not giving me the warmest of fuzzies right now. Might be time to set it aside for a while.

- A group of 4 boys in their late teens rollingl up in the car together to buy booze
- An older man buying a single Wine taster and some sweets
- Multiple people buying plants and maybe a few bits
- A very old woman coming in to buy some 'Food to Go' stuff and nothing else
- Aisles completely filled with people both working and shopping

And it's just like... what am I doing this all for? Why am I worrying so hard, wearing masks, trying to keep my distance, etc when it seems that there are so many people who aren't doing any of that? Whether they *have* to do that or whether they simply want to do that I don't care, they're still doing it when they shouldn't be. The supermarket definitely doesn't care. Everyone from managers down are always just non-chalantly talking with each other, and I have to actively avoid my own colleagues sometimes because they just won't stay away. Yesterday we had about 4 different people replenishing a single aisle at a busy time of day..."

It must be exhausting being a real, actual hero when all those fake heroes are talking to each other, and being all non-chalant while they're casually stocking shelves.

i guess the ethnic/internatinoal section works differently where i live, it's just the shelf for foreign brands that aren't popular enough for general distribution but has crazy fans that pay any amount to get it.

like coke:
regular coke is produced locally and sits in the soda section and outsells hotcakes by a wide marigin
vanilla coke is imported directly from murica because several dozens of crazy people want it and are prepared to pay a 100% markup for it, and you'll usually find it in the international section if you can find it at all.

Where I live, it just means mostly Mexican and various Asian foods on one aisle, including a tiny amount of imported stuff.  It's a chain supermarket...that's normal.  People know if you want the real deal that you need to go to international food markets instead.  Not sure what is problematic about this, but it's reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.

The point wasn't that it's super authentic Italian food though.

It's not a coincidence though that pasta + what Americans consider Italian sauces + shitty Parmesan cheese (with sawdust!) are generally all in the same aisle. It's how your average American sees "Italian" food. My point was it's kinda of lame that we don't just label it as such, as it would be more consistent (authentic or not.)

But yeah.. meat is in another part of the store. That goes for any dish you are trying to create; I don't think anyone is saying they LITERALLY can get everything in one aisle. Unless people are cooking without meat and vegetables.

When I was in Chicago on a business trip, one dude swore by this bakery called Dinkel or something, it was the most basic stuff imaginable and they didn‘t even have Pumpernickel

More on topic, the only thing I would find problematic would be the the term ethnic since it can have some weird connotations. International is a better word. Most places wouldn’t stock harder to find items if they were just lumped with everything else since most mom and pop grocery stores pretty much serve generic stuff
