that is a mighty poor boy gaming setup...
Wait so just trying to figure it out so they have an xbox one x, and they're just watching a stream of Destiny like that?
Twitch has an xbox app? I am so confused by this...
They're streaming or capturing the game on their laptop. I think that's an Elgato hanging from the tv.
I think gaming blog media is at a really weird crossroad right now where all the big companies have offices in areas where the cost of living has gotten so ridiculous that their employees can barely afford to actually keep up with the gaming scene since they can barely afford consoles and shit.
Well with the xbox record stuff you can get the same quality then take it from console via a USB. I'm just so confused at why they're doing it in this way...
It also can also record upto an hour which was how long that event was, I watched it myself....
I personally wouldn't be doing it that way, especially if they have a kid, a dangling cable like that could end up with the kid getting an xbox phatboi to the face.....
Well basically if they have offices in ridiculously priced areas, there really isn't any need for an online journo to come into the office, it's crazy old school and embarrising.
I do IT within media and we basically have most staff even before covid only really come in for print press days.
With slack/teams/zoom etc you can still get all the same interactions with staff without having to make them live in an absolutely shitty apartment...
In any case, the dude is hating on kids for living in a mansion when he lives in a shoe box so sucks to be them.
Also if they work for Kotaku, I'm sure they get hooked up with consoles and PC's etc..
Well they should anyway, but obviously not from the companies directly as that leads to bias because frees stuff.
It should be on expenses though, if it's not lol, no wonder Jason took the Bloomberg money...
