I did have a question on the whole 3 vote banning system the mod team apparently uses though. Is it a case where they only need 3 people to vote yes to ban someone? Even if the majority that are around vote no?

3 votes? I don't think I ever said anything about how many are needed. It's just a discussion with whomever is on at the time and if we can get a general consensus we go with it.

Essentially correct. There's 30 people on staff, most of them won't be online at any given time. Typically it's 3 votes, sometimes we try to get more and make sure people invested in the topic (mostly minority mods) get a chance to weigh in. You can push back against a ban if you feel it's unjustified or incorrect.

Wow, they actually did it.  A key member and one of the faces of a massive AAA 1st party franchise is permanently banned on the supposed quintessential gaming forum, the place meant to be at the crossroads of fans and industry professionals like nowhere else.  A game that will be touted as a console-seller as the dawn of a new video game generation rises, and the development director isn't even allowed to speak at an alleged pillar of the industry, at least not as himself assuming the staff give him an anonymous new account with a vague verified tag.


Anyway, has no one posted that Morrigan discord conversation on the site yet?  I mean it would obviously get deleted almost immediately, but would be nice to show at least a few people that are unaware of how the staff talk about the userbase behind closed doors.  Though I'm sure it's circulated among the various discords at this point, so people probably know.

Now is the time to re-bring up the fact that I, 213372bu, was a really nice member who made multiple threads as a chill member and received a perma for simply telling excelsiorlef that bumping a thread shaming some dude going over a divorce is unnecessary.

It was an instant perma and it was because I was " a junior member" and I had previous "infractions".

One, I had already made multiple threads on the site that were productive. Two, I had never been banned at all which can be checked on the weird ban tracker.

Given that the game also has the Japanese equivalent of the "M" rating here, there is no excuse for this nonsense.

Anyway just getting the word out (though I imagine it's already common knowledge by now), and thinks SIEJ owes Naughty Dog an apology for compromising the creators' vision in this manner. Also heard a certain sex scene later in the game was completely cut, but I can give or take that.

Oddly enough the ban message doesn't show up there.  And it was at one time a Pending ban that has been going on since March 26.
