Also that article by the guardian is trash. Graham Linehan has had more venom thrown at him for being a TERF than JK could gather in 10 lifetimes. It has nothing to do with her gender.
I don't think that's actually true, but
even if it was, graham linehan was in an ongoing and sustained flame war on twitter, and was frequently the instigator and aggressor as often as he was the target.
JKR has consistently been
the target of a vitriolic mob, and their ire has frequently been attracted not by things she has done, or comments she has directly made, but just
news about her.
It’s funny how all of the groups that criticize trans people you have to be empathetic towards and say “ The people being so hateful towards them are probably mentally ill or sexist“, but if any trans person no matter the situation ever suggests that may be someone might have an issue with trans people, it’s suddenly “we’ll hold on now you can’t jump to conclusions. Stop being so sensitive.”
I'm sorry, I can't believe we're talking about the same thing here the way you have described this.
https://twitter.com/hashtag/RIPJKRowling?src=hashtag_clickRIPJKRowling was a fucking global trending hashtag because one reviewer implied something about her new book that none of the people tweeting this had read and that subsequent reviewers claim is untrue. Is that a proportionate response to her 'crime'?
Is it only trans people doing this?
Do actual male transphobes saying actual transphobic things get implict death threat hash tags globally trending?
No?
then maybe that article isn't "trash".
