What a surprise. They are finally getting it.

Depiction of something in a piece of media doesn't mean the people behind said piece of media wholesale approve of whatever is being depicted. But it is deeply funny this revelation is coming from these guys that skinned CDPR alive for depicting megacorps profiting off supposed transphobia in CP 2077, as if CDPR are transphobes themselves. Just like those harassers in that story, Ree have been guilty of conflating depiction with approval within media for years.

This is just the logical endpoint of their worldview.  They spend years going on about harmful media depictions, how that normalizes certain things in society, start reading too much into things, ignoring intent and bam, you got an entire generation of people that can't tell the difference between fiction and reality.  When that barrier disappears, of course it's going to become an indictment on those that portray villains.  Something that should have been standard media analysis turned into fucking wars that casted both creators and fans as awful people.

Not that this shit hasn't always existed in some form or another of course, but it's certainly gotten more annoying.  Gone are the days of that "let people enjoy things" comic.

Literally every publisher and studio in the industry is guilty of misogyny and sexism. There isn't a single one that hasn't had someone come forward against them. Ubisoft, Riot, Insomniac, Microsoft, Naughty Dog, the list goes on and on and on. Big publishers and independent developers both. This is systemic across the entire industry. Banning just one publisher/studio and not all of the others sends a message that we only care about this when it gets particularly bad. It's wholly unacceptable regardless of who does it.

Banning just Acti/Blizz sends the message that it's just them that's the problem. They aren't the only ones. It's everyone. Every game we enjoy is tainted by this, there is no getting around that or minimizing it. This is why we pointed people towards charities to help women because this is a systemic problem. You cannot pretend it's just Acti/Blizz because it isn't. You don't get to write this off as just a single studio or publisher.

Agreed, my fiancee and I just went all out on a Tempur-Pedic after doing a bunch of research and hearing testimonials... (it was between that and Sleep Number) - mattress buying is a PITA, with so many conflicting testimonials, oftentimes what's in the store is different than what you take home, the return policies are usually messed up, all the legalese with the financing... our deliverymen also fucked up with their setup and had to come back 2 weeks later to fix it. And with how much you pay for some of these mattresses, buyers remorse can quickly set in. The first 2 months with the mattress were a bit painful as my body adjusted to it but now things have gotten a lot better.
