Oh, just remembered, Cindi, have you considered Ireland at all? Since the UK is your "preferred but" and it's literally right next to it.
I really haven't. I tend to favor multicultural metropolitan hubs with lots of diversity. Ireland isn't much of a diverse place. The population is 94.3% white. TVC suggested Asian countries but similarly I'm not down for those for the same reason.
Also, unfortunately, I - for some reason -
believe in France. This is utter idealization. But it happened every since High School and we studied AP American History to learn how France helped America, gave us the Statue of Liberty (and she was BLACK!) all while the whole Freedom Fries thing was happening and I agreed with France's decision. I know it's stupid, naive, and extremely romantic but I believe in France. I do not, however, believe in America. The fact that Trump has pressured Germany and France to up their NATO spending after 28-29 years of static defense budget just makes me believe in them even more. The fact there was dissent when raising the budget, when I live in an America that spends over 700 billion on it, just raises my respect further.
I have no idea where or how I got these feelings for France, but I have them in the same way many immigrants that move to America feel about America.
