The ICO poster, I think the work is styled off a famous artist (whose name I forgot) so you can easily play it off as a "real" painting.

Currently got no gaming posters where I live. And uh, now that I think about it my only gaming related poster was the classic Super Mario Brothers 3 box art. Not exactly subtle haha.

Though some stuff that comes to mind was Olly Moss stuff. He designed the posters for http://alifewellwasted.com/merch/ for example which to my eyes are great. Eventually Sony commissioned him for the Resistance 3 box art I believe it was.

i don't have much in the way of tasteful/hidden nerd stuff in the house, but also we only have nerd stuff in the office anyway. the rest of the house is stuff we've collected on various trips over the years or paintings by my wife's grandmother. have some non-tasteful regular nerd shit instead:

I have a framed Senran Kagura poster, signed by the producer, hanging up in my game room/office. The height of taste.

If you want official shit for Japanese games, check Yahoo Auction (use a proxy like Buyee) for posters or A2 or B2 size scrolls.

I also used customwallscrolls.com to turn some various fighting game artwork (like the various bonus images in SFV Arcade Edition) into scrolls. Their quality is very good if you want to go the custom printing route. This is one of them:

Actually in a similar vein, if I could ever find a high-res/textless version of this AC 64 art I'd also probably get it printed. Really doubt that exists though.

Might be able to get someone to photoshop a version, but that's a lot of work...

Dusk-silhouetted figures in a forest setting apparently really do it for me.

Hmm in my mind I have it more associated with the game in general, with the second sticking out in my mind as PS2 Euro specifically...

In any case I go back and forth on which one I like better.

And the American covers all suck, though the Wii Edition's blue is my favorite if they absolutely have to put Leon on the cover.

The US box arts for the game are all pretty lame honestly when comparing it to the black and dark red variants. Those Euro ones are truly great and memorable. Not sure why this always happens (I take it back. I mean I studied marketing so I know damn well why

Richard Parry does some pretty fun "disassembled" prints of various consoles, handhelds and controllers. You could probably get away with one of those, depending on the room of course.

You make a good case with XII because the Judge is so prominent and the cover comes out to actually look artistic.

Honestly a big reason I laugh when people say those American FF cover arts are trash is because I know what true trash looks like.

Take arguably my favorite box art of all time next to FFVI's.

Here's the American cover.

Christ.

Then take, the JP and EU version of Suikoden's boxart. The EU boxart is fantastic and unlike bad EU FF boxarts has actual artwork on it despite the minimal design.

Say what you want about the American FF boxes. They're not trash. For one, they use actual official artwork.
