Here's what I gathered so far reading the different pieces of the puzzle:
- Kim collapsed, rushed to hospital, North Korea signaled China for help
- China was prepared to send a team but it would take some time to get them to Kim's location
- North Korean doctors (one of them trained in China) feared the help would not arrive in time as Kim's condition worsened
- The North Korean doctors decided to operate on their own, one of them was apparently nervous to operate on the body of dear leader
- A procedure that should've taken 30 seconds to a minute took a full 8 minutes, leaving Kim in a vegetative state
- Kim being obese apparently also complicated the procedure
- North Korea once more asked Chinese doctors to help, hoping that they could perhaps do something to save dear leader
- The Chinese concluded that Kim was already (brain) dead and nothing could be done
- China has mobilized border forces and activated their agents in case Kim's sister turns to the US (after all she spearheaded the diplomatic efforts between Trump/Kim)
- North Korea has mobilized ICBM launchers during the last 48 hours

Tomorrow there is a big celebration in North Korea.
So they could announce his death and successor soon.

The biggest Dutch newspaper reported on his death yesterday. Followed by Turkish outlets.
Some high up news person in Hong Kong also broke the story early along with sources in Japan.
Although reports from Japan indicated he's still in a vegetative state and not dead yet.

I dug around some more and it looks like the first reports came from a former N.K. Defector that’s now a S.K. Lawmaker.

i Seong-ho, who earned a proportional representation seat of a minor party in the country’s April 15 elections, told Yonhap News Agency he believes Kim died after his recent surgery and that North Korea will announce it this weekend.

“I’ve wondered how long he could have endured after cardiovascular surgery. I’ve been informed that Kim died last weekend,” Ji told the outlet. “It is not 100 percent certain, but I can say the possibility is 99 percent. North Korea is believed to be grappling with a complicated succession issue

The original reports were sourced from the Korean equivalent of Breitbart and other political grifters like that dude Ji. Western news agencies don't really seem to know that a lot of these NK defectors are conmen who make their living through fearmongering and overcompensation for their bootlicking past.

Dunno about the Chinese reports but the singular Japanese report came from Shukan Gendai, a rag which has the oh-so acclaimed journalistic past of being warned by the Japanese government for publishing a bunch of pictures of vaginas.

This was always a bunch of fucking nothing.
