1) carts piled around are aesthetically displeasing. Aesthetics over laziness always.

The first thing a real dutchmen does is to check if there isn't a cart with the coin still stuck or forgotten and take that one.

The whole ritual is changed now. The store worker rinses the cart with disinfectant and then hands you one.
