ToxicAdam, do you think you could explain for me the general rules for how you evaluate science, or scientific studies? Because it seems to me like you just accept or reject things based on how they conform to your own views

Oh. I figured it was something related to global warming.

Anyways, that tweet presents a false dichotomy. You can believe that climate change is real but the current technological pace we are on to offset it is good enough.  The progress/understanding we've made in 60 year (actual boomers) and 40 year timelines is pretty incredible. So, if you've lived it and seen it, then you don't see the need to fundamentally disrupt our way of life in a 10-12 year window. These theoretical "tipping points" that get predicted then pushed back every decade is what people like me are averse to.

It's a lie to say "nothing is being done". Trillions of dollars, millions of man-hours and a huge pile of private money is being spent every year towards global warming / green energy projects. It only grows every year.

NeoGAF finally broke me down in 2010 after a solid 10 years on the board in different forms. I was one of the most active posters in the old PoliGAF threads and over the years, I went from full on: "I don't want gay people to get married." to "I'll perform the gender reassignment surgery myself, if that's what it takes for this woman to be comfortable in her own skin." Back then, I was one of only two active Conservative posters, ToxicAdam being the other. I wonder if he has found his journey's ultimate end, as well?

I was always a moderate. I'm anti-gun, pro abortion, pro welfare dude. I believe in state and local government working for the people.  It's always been weird how people got me twisted on GAF (and here ) because of one issue.

I guess it's because I was constantly playing devils advocate to mostly socialist ppl?

It's usually because you don't support every left wing idea or live by their woke standards that keep changing daily.

seeing that as "pro welfare" is certainly idiosyncratic!
