idk, I mean yeah Cable was great and cheesing and Dr. Doom has a nice assist, but me and my friend would use like Amigo and the Pirate Monkey and everyone in MvC2 because they were fun.
There's nothing better than beating your friends with bad characters.
Level 3 X-factor Vergil with 5 bars of super in UMvC3 would say otherwise
Tbh, I don't get satisfaction from playing as characters that are not viable to my playstyle. I'm not a tier whore, but viability and match ups matter to me.
Take for example in Marvel 2, the projectiles the Street Fighter cast and the majority of the Capcom cast has compared to many Marvel characters is fucking whack. So if I want my game plan to revolve around zoning, 90% of the cast is utterly fucked with giving pressure and defending against pressure.
That's not fun to me. A cast of characters that has unique toolsets but those toolsets being balanced, that's fun. You won't be penalized for playing as a goofy or non traditional character.
Great balancing = "whoever we select, it'll be a good time"
Bad balancing = "depending on who we select, this shit could be a trainwreck for one of us"
I mean, MvC2 has Roll. Roll is absolutely useless and pointless.
