I listened to the Jon Stewart bit about Spotify and Joe Rogan...
Stewart never once defends Rogan's misinformation, he's just saying that Rogan is someone you could engage in a productive discussion with.
I disagree, while I don't think Rogan is necessarily a bad faith actor looking to specifically to sew discord, I do think he is a massive moron who will continue to spread bullshit even after being corrected and agreeing with the correction because he's just a huge meathead idiot.
Either way, Jon isn't taking a "centrist" viewpoint here he's making a specific value judgement about a specific person.
Stewart has said similar things regarding Chappelle and in the recent past about other woketraversies, he apparently still holds to the "the correct answer to bad speech is more speech" like he used to do on The Daily Show rather than demanding everyone just shut up.
His critique of Tucker Carlson and Crossfire, while he tried to avoid criticism himself as he always did by claiming he was just a comedian, was 17 years ago now and seems like something he might say if invited on Joe Rogan's show or spoke to Rogan directly but he probably also recognizes the difference between a podcast or The Daily Show no matter how popular either is and Crossfire on CNN or Stewart's more serious current show.
I think Rogan is dumb and have never had a problem with private actors criticizing other private actors or companies for their faults, even if I don't agree that they're faults, but there's a lot of strange unexamined aspects to the whole "platforming" debate that social justice actors seem to ignore while many modern conservatives are strangely grasping fairly well. (Others, framing themselves as free speech champions against Big Tech and want to legislate against free speech as a result... are not.) Some voices on the "left" recognize it as pretty corrosive, I imagine Stewart does, but far too many, let's call them blue checks so I can paint them as The Other, just seem to want to keep the power of being able to wield it against people.

mfw the red head in this video got hired by EA/Bioware.
Wonder if h3h3 regrets this video like he does his Jordan Peterson interviews and HUGH MUNGUS interviews/videos for critiquing social justice science. (I note that this one, like the HUGH MUNGUS ones, has not been performatively taken down unlike the Jordan Peterson ones.)
Lots of Asian people also showing their self-loatging and internalised racism by not being offended on behalf of the white people who are being offended on their behalf.

Thank you for properly centering the oppressed who can not speak rather than performing "allyship" or "solidarity" both of which are highly problematic.
