For someone almost 40, 6’1” and weigh 195 I’m doing not bad. Add in long legs, short torso, and long ass arms too. More difficult to move weight regarding range of motion. I’ve been lifting since mid 20s, so although I do look great and I’m lean and muscular, I can only work out 3-4 time a week due two kids and a 40 hour work week.

Honestly I'm shocked to see people so confused by this. Like seriously. I'm not always anti-sexualisation myself (I like some fan service-y games tbh) but I see a lot of people complaining about it in games on this forum and outside so I assumed Bayonetta's heavy use of it would be a barrier.

Obviously I know sex sells but I think there's a reason why something like Senran Kagura doesn't blow up the same way Persona does. Obviously gameplay is a big deal but if SK was just a top tier beat em up I think it would still have difficulty selling because of the fan service in comparison to more of a straight played Streets of Rage clone.

Am I just crazy? I feel like it lol.

As for the Xenoblade 3 thing, that's just a guess on my part but the designs certainly look less hornier than 2. It's still, for a lack of better word, anime but none of the girls look like Pyra or Mythra.

I honestly don't think they intend for anyone to find Bayonetta sexually titillating. When she dances erotically and the camera flirts with her, it feels more like Bayonetta just basking in her own glow, being goofy because she's powerful enough to treat each situation like a game. She acts sexual but it's self-aware and doesn't actually feel "sexualized," if that makes sense.

If that were true then the camera would behave differently when she’s in genuine danger. But it doesn’t, because she’s a fan service character in a game with an incredibly blatant male gazy camera.

Every time this comes up, I try to think of how to really explain this, but ultimately:
If she's nothing but Male Gaze material, she's pretty fucking bad at it. She looks weird, her personality isn't submissive, etc. And anecdotally, I've never seen anyone, uh, 'advocate' for how hot she is or how she's their waifu or anything of that sort. People just don't find her attractive.

*AND YET* we're *still* here a decade later debating whether or not she's female empowerment. Some women *LOVE* her give no fucks, dance for nobody but herself aura. Some women see a camera is pointed at her and immediately dismiss it. Some take the story being almost literally, verbatim, "Fuck the patriarchy" into consideration and that changes how they weight the camera angles and poses.
And, personally, myself as a person who would best describe myself as typically very horny, gender fluid person, I get nothing from Bayonetta as a sex object, but she absolutely acts as a role model for my feminine side. I'd even say that a large part of me realizing my gender identity was from reflecting on *why* and *how* I liked Bayonetta so much, so maybe I'm a bit biased on that side.

Obviously not every woman, genderfluid, or otherwise feminine leaning person is going to see the same things in Bayonetta, but it seems really silly to discount what she does for a lot of people because the camera is *too* consistent in some parts, even if she was made almost entirely by accident by a man.

She’s based off of Kamiya’s wants and the dominance part plays a part in that. Like, dominant women exist and she’s very specifically and intentionally giving off dominatrix vibes. I also think people are vastly exaggerating how stylized she is as well. Especially given the context of what other characters look like and what features they emphasized. Like the rest of nearly identical women in the series. It’s not just bayonetta herself, it’s the whole package as a whole that gives off barely disguised writer fetish vibes.
