I saw this thread a few days back and thought if ever there was a topic for Morrigan to thundercunt her way through it's this one. She did not disappoint-

Basically, Anthrax for versatility's sake on a sub-genre that can definitely feel very same-y at times. I don't know I just have a hard time imagining important pioneering bands in the Thrash scene like Municipal Waste or Toxic Holocaust existing without Anthrax.
I don't hear much Anthrax in Toxic Holocaust at all. They owe their sound to Venom, Motörhead, Hellhammer and Sodom way, way more.

Thor 4 delivered for me. It was funny. It made me cry. It was very nice to look at. I imagine that kids are going to absolutely adore it. Christian Bale delivered maybe my favorite MCU villain performance. I can't find anything suggesting Taika is openly queer, but it certainly feels like a glass closet situation and this movie is joyfully queer in ways that touched me. My only negative comment would be that Starlord felt very out of character here compared to other movies.

Its always weird to me when people act like there is a negative consensus towards a movie that's received mostly positive reviews and mostly positive audience reactions.

Got the Time wasn't a punk song, it's synth/new wave done by Joe Jackson.  So once again she's arrogant and wrong.

Sepultura's 90s output (Chaos AD and Roots) was fantastic and still holds up.

Metallica's 80s output is still regarded as classics of the genre.  In particular, Master of Puppets.  They wavered in the late 90s - early 2000s but their last two albums are really good.

Go back to listening to shitty black metal that sounds like it was recorded on a boom box, Morrigan.

I've said this before, but what you can always notice with Morrigan is that whatever album you say is your favourite from any band, her's will always be the one prior to that, especially if yours is widely considered to be their best/breakthrough album.

To the point that if your favourite album is their first, then she will literally say their demos were better.

Alright, so here it is.

This was like maybe 8 or 10 years ago in this community.

There was a thread about how people wiped their butts. There were choices, like, do you sit and wipe front to back, back to front, do you lift a cheek off the seat and come from the side, etc, etc. I don't remember the options. And then, not an option but in the thread was like, "or are you a sicko and you stand up to wipe your ass, haha, yeah right nobody is like that, just kidding."

And I was like gonna post, like "well obviously I wipe my butt the way everybody does, I get off the seat and stand u........" and I read the responses. one after the other, dunking on people who stood up and wiped their butt. Uncivilized animals. Disgusting cretins. FREAKS OF NATURE. Wiping poop all over their bodies, your butt cheeks squishing together poop into a poop sandwich, dripping down your leg like the uncivilized, unwashed monster that you are. And I sat in my chair, aghast. "... but... that's... how I poop..." And I paused... and thought... "but... surely you can't actually *fit* your hand under there while you're seated..." And "... but wait my poop doesn't squish onto my butt cheeks that doesn't happen..." and "but... I don't think my legs are strong enough to lift up one side that's weird...."

And I thought of all of these reasons why what I was doing was _the right_ way to do it, and the way everybody else did it was foreign and strange, barbarous.

And I realized I was in an *extreme* minority.

I stayed quiet. Maybe even laughed along, "hahaha. yeah, those fucking POOP FREAKS who stand up....... right...."

A day or two later, I tried the suggestions of others. Lifting one cheek up. Reaching from the middle of the seat while seated.... It wasn't as hard as I thought it would be. It cleaned as effectively as I had always cleaned myself.

And I realized something very important, perhaps the most important lesson I've ever learned from the internet. You learn how to wipe your ass a few times. As a kid, I always got off the toilet, put my hands down on the floor (THE FLOOR!) and my dad or mom wiped my ass. When I learned to wipe myself, I did it alone, and I did it the same way, just standing up, bending over slightly, moving a cheek and wiping. And then I went through life... 30 years... nobody ever challenged it. It was the only way I knew how. I thought it was natural, I thought I was free, I thought I was one of you.

I wasn't. But every day I try, and every day I'm getting better.

Today? I barely wipe at all. I blast hot water on my butt sphincter with a $300 hydro-electric contraption that I probably only bought because of the internalized trauma of realizing that I was in the out group.

so one thing that has happened in my life this year is the newfound joy of going out for walks while listening to podcasts. I bought some bluetooth headphones last year, the Koss Porta Pros, and I've been using them a lot recently. Honestly it's something that should have happened much earlier in life, but better late than never. I just put on my headphones, download some recent podcasts, and go out. I often buy a coffee to go along with it, and I walk for an hour or so. It also helps that I recently bought some sandals and I can just put them on without bothering with socks. It's much more comfortable too temperature-wise.

The other day, I had an appointment on the other side of town. I took a cab to go there, but when it came time to head back home, I just walked instead. Took me a little under two hours. It was so nice.

I don't know if I'll keep it up during winter. I don't mind the cold; it's just the prep that's annoying (putting on layers, boots, etc). But for now, yeah, walks it is. Even as I type this, I feel the need to go, but I gotta finish work first.
