No, but it needs to be written better. Why have racism or discrimination in your game if it isn't actually exploring the issue or has zero applicability to the real world? If you're oppressed group in your game is either A) actually REALLY fucking different (ie not even the same fucking species) or B) have committed atrocities in the past, then just stop writing this side plot right fucking now as it has no bearing to the real world.


For instance, the latest Deus Ex games take what is clearly a Class Struggle but stupidly tries to co-opt imagery and words associated with racial discrimination. Hey idiots, 1) Becoming Augmented is a choice, 2) Augmented people ARE different, they can literally rip a humans arm off with little effort. So yes, you should expect some different treatment. You should expect to see words and imagery associated with class struggle, such as "Peace, Land and Bread" instead we get "Aug Lives Matter." 🤦‍♂️

that's....that's what makes exploring the circumstances interesting 

because it's not just the fucking real world all over again that we already experience every day

when I was in middle school they had a high school day event where teachers from the high school came to the middle school to talk about what to expect in high school

one of the teachers was this really cool still-burnt-out-from-the-70s dude who looked like a younger master roshi

anyway two guys I knew were messing around in the hallway punching each other, doing stupid shit, and this high school teacher saw them and said "hey, what're you two homos doing?!"

This is what turned me around on this. When I first saw it, it felt like people were making a big deal over nothing.

Then I saw a tweet from a woman who said she had two children, one of them being disabled, and that they would absolutely never brag about their other child being "healthy."
