You’re right, but it’s unrealistic to simply say “Black people are people” when we sure aren’t treated like people or the same as other people and need to take extra precautions like teach our children how to survive getting pulled over by the police and get home safely. Yes, that is an extremely exhausting mindset to have but it doesn’t make the reality of the situation less real.

And these racists love it when they see us fighting and divided. More fuel for their agenda, and easier prey to be had. They already starting to tear down Will talking about how he’s mentally ill. It may be unfair, but Will’s a black man in the spotlight and he represents us. That whole situation looked messy. People on ERA are particularly soft. For the vast majority of people, that gi jane joke was nothing. To ERA, who think speech=violence, that joke was a vicious attack on Will's wife. This is just straight up not true. It's not a human reaction at all, it's a coddled, entitled, millionaire's reaction. No matter what bullshit people are spouting on here, the reality is that the vast majority of us would not go and assault someone for making a shitty joke directed at a partner.
