just getting shit off my chest
I don't want to be a bad person or transphobic or hurt anyone, really, but there's so much revolving around trans conversations that feels like "the emperor has no clothes" sort of situation
it's always seemed weird to me the number of common aspects of at least what you see in the terminally online trans crowd: tendencies toward autism, work deeply with computers/web/programming/IT, play video games in a hyper-focused manner such as a tendency to be a speedrunner, tendencies to have other pathologies and kinks and mental illnesses, collecting them like RPG perks, tendencies to be lesbian or bi, tendencies to be depressed and leftist and suicidal (that seem like it would go beyond external "how society treats you" forces)
it never feels like "this is a completely normal person with interests across the scope of human activities who is simply switching from man to woman," there is definitely a type
you would think if it was as simple as a switch in the brain, an ordinary female brained person, there would be more trans who are not interested in girly things but still feel strongly they are a girl, or who want to take over dad's farm and hate the internet, or are trans yet want to remain christian or muslim, etc.
I suppose the existence of trans athletes at all runs counter to these assumptions but it just feels like so much more research and understanding into what drives all this is needed
this is not to say that anyone doesn't deserve a life seeking happiness and a minimum of abuse from others, or that a class of "illegitimate" trans need to have separate considerations from "legitimate" ones
I just see so much that doesn't feel like a coincidence and I think we should try to find out why
sorry for this shit
