Gameplay aside, I am captivated by it as a time capsule of a style of music composed by, and seemingly catering to, angry young men. I was reminded of just how literally dangerous music of this generation was after watching HBO's Woodstock 99 documentary this past summer. I know I'm stereotyping or even nearing hyperbole, but the popular music of this era was full of hard guitar riffs, aneurysm-inducing screaming lyrics and inciting misogynistic young men to behave badly.

That feels like a reach. I mean, Wakanda Forever is doing very well. There are pretty clear reasons for the drop: World Cup as entertainment competition and Disney's animated release being terribly marketed and receiving average reviews -- as opposed to their release last Thanksgiving, Encanto, which more than doubled Strange World's 5-day haul.

I admit I kinda miss those edgy video games. These days it's mostly soy, weeb or generic corpo.

The only exceptions have been Fromsoft, CD Project Red and the occasional angst Square Enix or Capcom release like Final Fantasy Origin: Stranger of Paradise and Resident Evil Village with the big titty vampire lady also fits the bill.
Everything else like Bayonetta and Team Ninja games have signficantly reduced the edge as did Ubisoft with most of their games.
