Not surprising that RE forgot about Smollet and Amber Heard. Most of the people pushing this shitshow are the same scum that chickened out of discussion after RE started to side with Depp and pussyfoot in random threats about it.

I imagine there is one, two or three REALLY SALTY mods that are supporting this. I suppose the good old days of OldGaf/earlierRE of saying “believe women” as a mandate are weakened to the point of nobody repeating the mantra anymore.

They could just wait some weeks or months? they already comparing him with Ezra Miller because randoms in the internet are sharing chat and discord stuff like proof (remember other YouTuber shitshows where everyone had a story to share but suddenly disappeared if the main accuser ended faking it).

It's really amazing how they completely refuse to learn any lesson from those cases. I'm not even saying that people need to hold back shitting on Roiland, but you should at least allow people to say "I'll wait for more information", there is nothing wrong with that mindset when all the current information comes from a bunch of tiktoks and tweets

There is no incentive to learn from mistakes in a community level. If you are “wrong”, you get dogpilled by the protected users and mods ban you because cannot deal with reports, if you are “right” you got brownie points at best and live another day at worst. Mods don’t like to be reminded of their mistakes or shit behavior so the only enforced rule for both normies and protected users is “NEVER QUESTION US OUTSIDE THE SEMI HIDDEN THREA”. Most protected users are scumbags that terminally online so this is perfect for them until they deal with a mod with a dissenting opinion that has enough pull in the mod team.

The only thing that prevents the mod team total dominance is that they are fully aware how many of the protected users have enough contacts that could create shitshows outside the site. It took two years to deal with KetKat and Royalan to come back after lying low.

Normies users can get fucked, gaslighted and brainwashed enough to a balanced liking of the protected class and the rulers from the mod team. As someone who’s done a good 5 years of 2x per week psychotherapy with a clinical psychologist in DBT, CBT, IFS and EMDR, that is actually a very healthy way to end a friendship (which is often necessary when you need to end one because it no longer meets your life goals or you need to redraw your social boundaries). The problem is that people don’t really do that, they just ghost you and leave you confused or they (if they have something like untreated borderline personality disorder) they explosively nuke the friendship with toxic behavior until you defensively detach.

Typical that many Era members, a highly depressed and socially anxious forum that doesn’t get enough psychotherapy, would scoff at this.
