While this will certainly inconvenience me as I currently split the 4K sub between myself and my parents who live in a different city, I gotta say I really don't get the anger/incredulity being expressed by folks on this site. One sub = one household is basically the default for services. I don't think Netflix's actions could be defined as unreasonable here.

I’m personally mad because I don’t password share but I actually travel and spend prolonged time abroad in the USA visiting my in laws with my wife. Due to this change it seems I’d have to be asking for 7 day codes every week after a month just because Netflix has decided to make it more difficult for others to share their passwords. I’m not going to do that, I pay for Netflix and I’m not going to jump through hoops, no matter how small, every 7 days just to have them accept that I’m allowed access to what I’ve paid for and have paid for since damn near a decade ago. If others have no issues with it then great, good for them that’s totally fine, I personally will take my money elsewhere even if my own personal sub means nothing at all in the grand scheme of things.

 

 I’m not going to do that, I pay for Netflix and I’m not going to jump through hoops, no matter how small.

Cause it means exposing people to Kyuuji's list of things JKR and her buddies have done to impact transgender people and gender-affirming care. And sites trying to put communities on-blast for deciding to ban HL discussion are leaving out any and all details as to why communities are banning it or refusing to cover it, to make their side of the story the only one people are exposed to.

This is a huge issue with the coverage, at least to me. I keep seeing articles about the boycott or about communities not allowing discussion of HL…but they almost go out of their way to avoid the why. It’s insidious really, because all that does is give space for people to insert their own self serving reason for why.

My administratorship doesn't supersede my personality and politics, and in general I don't believe taking the high-road is a helpful universal maxim.
