An incendiary statement for a headline that leads into this:

Claims there's a link to autism and leads with a 97.5% statistic that accounts for... "autism, depression or other problems". Wow, yeh, some top notch journalism there.
Just chock full of "claims" and "mights". "Seven in 10 children had more than five 'associated features' such as abuse, anxiety, eating disorders or bullying" - yeh, almost like living with gender dysphoria causes you distress or something. Tell me you know nothing about being trans without telling me you know nothing about being trans.
Its medical best practice to not make major life changing events while in treatment for unrelated mental illness or without establishing what the actual underlying causes are.
The cited article isn't even 'full' of weasel wording - it says that more than 97.5% had comorbidities that were not even
acknowledged, let alone treated.
It also doesn't claim theres 'a link' to autism, it states ~35% of its referrals displayed moderate to severe autistic traits, compared to <2% of the national average, 25% had been in care (<0.7% uk average), and were 10 times more likely to have a parent who was a registered sex offender.
All of those experiences in someones formative years might well cause mental illness, but none should 'cause' being trans, yet children as young as 10 were being rubber stamped as 'definitely trans' after a bare minimum counselling session.

dangerous if you are ignoring pretty severe red flags because you just want more trans children.
