I hate this argument so, so much.. It's so stupid. It's like saying "tEcHNiCaLlY the new Last of Us Part 1 cost you 580 bucks".

The fuck no it doesn't, that's not how this works.
Most people interested in this already have a PS5 at home and if not and you're in the minority of people getting into PS5 with VR and the console, of course it's more expensive, like with a thousand different examples I could make, but that's still not how you should argue about the price of this.
Cause if that's your and other people's logic "technically you don't even need a good TV for your PS5 anymore, so you can spare yourself the 1500 bucks TV and technically make 500 bucks profit".

PSVR2 is kind of reminding me of Vita at this point. How much support is this thing even going to get from the Sony studios that matter? I guess that's why Ree is spazzing out and defending this thing so hard.

The reviews have definitely dimmed my excitement somewhat. But I'm going to keep my preorder despite. I'm still really excited for display and the promise of Sony funded/backed games. Still, it definitely feels like a gamble at this stage.

Sure, I’m just not seeing why the reviews would increase that fear? Did you think the reviews would be so unequivocally and undeniably glowing that they would convince everyone that this was an essential piece of gaming hardware that everyone needs to own, making every person with a PS5 rush out to buy one and now you’re disappointed that the reviews aren’t going to push that many units?

A waffle making vr headset would make up for a potential lack of big budget games, yes. But seriously, my trepidation stems from the potential danger of psvr2 not having a high enough attach rate to warrant Sony continuing to produce interesting software/games for the device. I love the hardware. Been dreaming of a HDR HMD since I first played vr. But big budget games for VR have been few and far between and there's every possibility that the trend will continue with psvr2 if not enough people buy it.

The fact that this dude knows EXACTLY what the problem is with this thing and how it's going to eventually end up, but he's still buying it anyway.

Went to a vigil for Brianna tonight and it was nice to see a strong turnout. Some emotional speeches, and a trans couple performed a couple of really great acoustic songs about trans resistance and overcoming prejudice to find a way to be yourself in the world. Met a mother there of a young trans daughter and we comforted each other a bit during the emotional points.

Laid some flowers for her and was wearing a large trans flag as a cape. Lots of others doing the same, with flags from across the LGBTQ,+ spectrum. Felt nice to see the community come out in the shared sense of loss and not only mourn, but share words of strength, anger, frustration and love.

It was a good night.

I mean, that's your right. I just tend to save my inhumane fantasies of folks getting ripped to shreds by German Shepherd and Belgian Malinois dogs for the people who actually deserve it the most- billionaires, politicians, arms dealers. You know, people doing actual systemic harm in the world. Instead of some petty thief. And I say this as a past victim of outright car theft.

I'm not a fan of police dogs but they aren't allowed to kill or even hurt suspects. I'm actually skeptical you could find a story of serious injuries let alone a death in the last decade. Police are really protective of those dogs.

This reads like a conservative talking point, majority of people are struggling because of shitty employers stealing wages, shitty landlords and property owners jacking up rent and home prices, a society that requires a car instead of reliable public transportation and walkable communities, along with prohibitively costly goods like food and medicine just to survive. The precariousness of the working poor is staying steady (on purpose), wealth inequality is increasing (by design), and some folks are resorting to crime in a decaying society. All the while we get smoke screened by stories like these to keep us agitated at people that are closer to our living situation than the ones actually robbing us and keeping us poor.

Speaking of what things read like, this reads like a conspiracy theory!

I feel the same way with the slogan DEFUND THE POLICE. It's such a non-starter. People who would otherwise be on your side just can't get on board. You have people saying "Well, we don't really mean defund the police just allocate the funds differently" but then other people say "Yes we do mean defund the police. Abolish Them!!"

That wasn't true, at least according to her. The auto mod she was using puts the word trans into moderated chat by default where it has to be approved, she was not aware of it.

Not just that, it activated if someone just used the word by itself. Using it in a sentence was fine.
It sounded like someone trying to make her look bad.

To be clear, Twitch's automod apparently does this by default. It's easy enough to validate - set your automod on your channel and try to type in the word trans and see what happens. I haven't been watching Silvervale, but she's never come off as the type to ban trans people specifically. I could imagine people raising a shit storm in chat though over auto mod putting "trans" under review and getting banned for that, leading to the situation we see here. Combine that with the fact that people hate VShojo as well and of course it will become a mess.

Like, there are a lot of people who take offense to the game being played, and I can't entirely blame them, but at some point things get out of hand.

it depends on what you criticize, how pointed/specific it is, and maybe whatever is being criticized here is too much, I don't know

but I don't think all aspects of all vigils should theoretically be off limits right?

suppose someone put together a completely cynical one that barely acknowledged the deceased and it was fully meant as some kind of culture war fundraiser, or performative so that you could get footage of people looking said or something

not saying that happened here or that anything here deserves criticism, only that I can imagine possible ones that could be justifiably called out for various reasons

I associate it with football watching parties because Kyuuji went with a flag as a cape, rather than mocking the vigil itself.

My impression is that vigil are, more often than not, too solemn to go dressed in that way and said “I had a good time”. And like everyone knows here, Kyuuji is kind of an uncaring asshole that enjoys getting her way than having genuine principles.

The weakest entry in the MCU for me for awhile, I saw it in 3D and honestly I think I'd have preferred it in 2D. It carried me through to the credits well enough but it was harder going at times than I'd have liked. Kind of a fart in the wind; a few hours on there's nothing particularly memorable or lasting from it. My main takeaway was that I'm pretty sure I could listen to Michael Douglas saying "ants" in different ways forever.

All in all I didn't expect much as the trailers hadn't really convinced me, and came away feeling no different. Kang didn't really feel imposing enough to cement the big bad vibe — his time in Loki was far better in that regard. I hope the post credits scene points to this being corrected soon.

Kang's "imposing" because he's basically (maybe literally) Doctor Doom with thousands of years of prep time. But since the beginning this is also why he's not at all, he always goes "ha, jokes on you, I can just fuck off into the timestream and come back when things will actually work" so it's like, whatever dude, see you again. The MCU doing him as a multiverse villain is kinda stupid because when they introduce Doom in Fantastic Four and the Kang in Ant Man 3 and the Kang in Loki and whichever Kang is the "big bad" are all going to be separate dudes or something. But then this is the same franchise that did stupid time travel shit to beat Thanos.
