When somebody has living in actual privilege:

This reads like a conservative talking point, majority of people are struggling because of shitty employers stealing wages, shitty landlords and property owners jacking up rent and home prices, a society that requires a car instead of reliable public transportation and walkable communities, along with prohibitively costly goods like food and medicine just to survive. The precariousness of the working poor is staying steady (on purpose), wealth inequality is increasing (by design), and some folks are resorting to crime in a decaying society. All the while we get smoke screened by stories like these to keep us agitated at people that are closer to our living situation than the ones actually robbing us and keeping us poor.

White-collar crime threads get a fraction of the agitation and staying power that threads like these do. The impact of white-collar crimes is infinitely more impactful, yet they don't get people riled up like these stories do.

I'm not surprised, just always try to push back against the vitriol and rage that people tend to reserve for criminals lower on the hierarchy of power and influence in society. I would rather we think about how to go about attacking systems and abuses of power, which can actually galvanize workers to advocate for substantive change.

This kind of story is perfectly digestible for liberals and conservatives alike. Nothing moves, nothing changes, but it feels good in the moment, and a collective catharsis of "lol get fucked," is uttered by a mass of people unable or unwilling to challenge the fundamental causes of societal problems.

Yup. This was always the enemy of my enemy is my friend; ive always heard whispers how she’s an asshole towards other POC streamers. I am happy she stood her ground against Kiwi and luckily none in the media tried to ‘not an angel!’ her struggles against hate campaigns which is a universal problem. It gave an issue visibility that people ignored and even though the chuds are back up and running, so props to her for that.

But she was always a privileged as fuck asshole who buys into the drama = clicks even if its terrible content. She’s intersectional fail; bullying bad for me, not for thee.

So the “no angel” narratives is bad because undermines causes rather than any genuine concern about bias.
