Patrick's a fucking idiot. Vice has lost 82% of its valuation over the last five years
during a debt-fueled binge, last year it missed revenue (not profits) by over $100 million. Waypoint's subscription being "profitable" doesn't mean shit when the company is piling on massive amounts of debt it can't afford. Disney, WBD and NBCUniversal are massive established revenue engines (also, notice all the tweeters completely ignoring those debt figures in the screenshot), they aren't relying on raising investment money, VICE was desperately going back to investors for new rounds over and over again before trying to sell but nobody wants it.
I was eatin all the replies about capitalism as if a system where exponential losses are mandated would somehow be superior.

Notice how Patrick also says "profitable, for a time" but still continues on as if the profit growth was the problem rather than the fact that profits, all across VICE too, stopped happening.
