I don't know what Microsoft was thinking releasing a broken ass game as one of their first big titles of the year.
At this point they should've just delayed it again until the fall. No reason to push this out broken with a sticker saying it will have half the intended framerate patched in later. It's not the type of game that will move any hardware.

Maybe they realized the game was going to suck regardless. Arkane was making it prior to the acquisition (like 5 years ago somehow), I ain't putting that shit entirely on Microsoft. Half their games sucked previously too.

They were also following the formula of Wolfenstein: Young Blood… a game that was received worse than New Colossus.

his third statement (from late january) was that MS wanted starfield out in june, but if bethesda had their way they'd have more time to work on it and it would be fall instead

I'll leave aside that Supreme Court Justices are more likely to resign than die of old age in office and just point out that this is effectively the case in many institutions (even on those courts with age limits it's common to appoint younger judges so they can be there for decades rather than change them every year) across the world yet the number of assassination attempts is incredibly low, especially in the cultureless white countries. In fact, term limits aren't the norm at all (and generally opposed by the left) across the world and to pick an example down the street there's no term limits for Congress, most incumbents have incredibly high re-election rates to where most races are not competitive until they die in office or stop running, yet assassination attempts for political reasons are effectively non-existent.

Yeah euphemisms and all that stuff has been around forever but I feel like there is something here that is extra artificial. Like it's not used to downplay something or to be more politically correct like Carlin's examples. It's people in that community who actually want to use those words and discuss those topics but they're not allowed to use those words. I just read the Gamespot review and its brutal. It's no surprise that Arkane was clearly abandoning the style that made them great, but it's very disappointing to hear that their transition to a new genre is such a failure.

I agree with the poster who said it earlier in the thread that they should've gone the From Software way. Keep doing what you're good at and grow an audience through the years. Guess Bethesda disagreed.

Each new From game was selling better than the last while Arkane was losing sales. Prey sales were extremely bad. Their approach to immersive sims was not gaining new audiences despite the praises. I don’t blame for wanting to try something new.

As someone who did in fact watch the first episode, She-Hulk literally did interrupt the Hulk, who was making a point about anger as it relates to gamma radiation, to talk about being a woman in society (which had nothing do do with what the Hulk was saying).

It was really stupid and a good example of why many female characters in popular media are terribly written, since they’re mouthpieces for stale women’s empowerment talking points instead of being good characters.

It’s unfortunate since She-Hulk’s 80s run has some of the most fun writing in the company’s publication history (which they didn’t even bother to try to emulate since nobody making MCU content has ever read a comic book in their lives).

I totally see what you mean but I wouldn't worry in Arkane's case specifically, their 4 previous games (Deathloop, Wolfenstein Youngblood, Prey and Dishonored: Death of the Outsider) all featured women and/or PoC protags, so I think they'll just keep genuinely creating the characters they want.
