The theory is that Musk unbanning people will increase the amount of hate speech on Twitter which will increase actual real world violence so therefore Apple and Google need to act to save lives. Taylor Lorenz ran a story in The Washington Post quoting from other insane Twitter conspiracy theorists outlining the necessity of this and quoting someone quoting her first tweet when Elon's purchase went through.

This is just Twitter's secret rules (Facebook has said the same thing) that's why Trump and MTG had personal accounts banned but still had their office accounts to tweet from (as MTG discovered) which are held to different rules. (And why they don't ban dictators, etc.) Also, if Trump had won the election he would have never been banned. The entire thing is because they irrationally freaked out and created a one-time exception that had never been used before or since.
