I think so too. Its usually a bottom 5er. Moore was just way too over the hill, so the movie is more comedic than anything. Grace Jones tackling him is one of the funnier things you'll see.

View to a kill was awesome and highly plausable with the earth quake and all. Pretty smart movie but not fleshed out due to character issues. Mainly being i couldnt tell if grace jones was a woman or a man in the movie when i was a kid.

I dont know why but i love Never Say Never Again its so campy and funny its not serious at all but it was just funny.

I think I'm one of the few that likes A View to a Kill, though.

It's true, there are few of us.  I llove A View To A Kill.

For years, it was my favorite, though that may have been because it was the first James Bond movie I ever saw as a kid.

Nowadays, my list would go something like this (worst to best)

The Man With The Golden Gun
Diamonds Are Forever
You Only Live Twice
Die Another Day
Moonraker
The World Is Not Enough
Live And Let Die
Tomorrow Never Dies
Octopussy
For Your Eyes Only
Thunderball
Licence To Kill
The Spy Who Loved Me
A View To A Kill
On Her Majesty's Secret Service (probably the best novel)
The Living Daylights
Dr. No
Goldfinger
GoldenEye
From Russia With Love

Some of them I haven't seen in their entirety for years though.

I can't rank them.. but I can tell you which one is the best, which one sucks, and which one REALLY sucks.

Suck:
Octopussy

Really Suck:
Die Another Day.

The rest are good. The best is From Russia With Love.

My work here is done. James Bond For the MOTHERFUCKIN' WIN.

PS: A View To A Kill KICKED ASS, and after Octopussy, was a great exit for Roger Moore, who is probably my second favorite bond after Connery.

I hate to say this but it should be said. Connery is the best bond, second best would be Pierce (not for movies sake but for bondness) coming in a very close third would be Timothy Dalton.

Why do i like Timothy Dalton cause i thought he would have made much better Moore bond movies than Moore did. Moore was gay as all gay could be i never saw that man be a man and smooth like james bond. he was a pussy....

So its right that Moore go out with Octopussy cause he was such a pussy himself.

I really miss connery as bond though. And pierce was just put in some horrible bond movies after Tommorrow never dies he got the shit end of the stick.

I have high high hopes about the next bond simply cause its got Goldeneyes director who understand who bond is and what bond should be like. And its got a kick ass replacement who is pretty gritty and if this is suppost to be more dramatic in some way or fashion i think he's the guy to pull off the change in pace.

Sorry to say there would have been no way that Pierce could make the change not cause of him as bond but the publics perception of him in the crappy bond movies.

Oh and wtf happened to the crazy real stunts in James Bond movies?

OHMSS IS the best novel, thats for damn sure. It would be nice if all the novels would be adapted some day. They've used all of the names so far, minus some of the short stories, but in reality, in more than half the cases, they've used the names and totally ignored Fleming's stories. Bastards.

Also, you can't put unofficial Bond flicks in yer lists you bums!

If we're ranking Bonds, for me its:

Connery > Dalton > Brosnan > Lazenby > Moore

- Connery was the coolest motherfucker on the planet (most of which is owed to Terence Young, the "real" Bond), suave, sexy and sophisticated, yet still rugged and coldly efficient (you actually believed that he could have any woman he wanted, yet also manage to save the world simultaneously)
- Dalton was the closest to Fleming's Bond, flawed and ruthless
- Brosnan wasn't a unique Bond, but rather a bland mixture of the previous actors' interpretations
- Lazenby had the presence and physicality, he would have been a great Bond had he done more movies
- Moore was a geriatric jokester, non-threatening and non-sexual, like watching your grandfather play Bond (and that kung-fu, yeesh)

It's not out yet though. If you are talking about that 60's Woody Allen movie, that isn't James Bond.

Late, unintended bump, but bz linked me here. First off, how much do those Bond DVD box sets cost? I can't remember all the ones I've seen, its over half, but I haven't seen all of them. Second, Die Another Day was not THAT bad. Granted, the ending was a little fucking stupid, a Korean guy taking over a killer death laser beam satelitte to beam into Korea is a little fucking stupid, not only illogical on an overall means - but the fact he only used it to clear the way for his own soldiers instead of jsut using it to destroy any country he wanted is a little fucked up. Then again so it a guy who takes a bullet in the neck and cant feel pain until he dies, and a news conglomorate owner making crime just to make money with his news service. Every Bond has some pretty unrealistic crazy ass bad guys pulling off something stupid.

Goldfinger is my favorite though, that was a classic. I wish Connery would make a cameo in a Bond film before he dies, maybe the plot is him being a bitter ex agent, one of the best ever that knows every trick of the trade that the current Bond knows.

I do believe they have tried to get Connery several times over the years for a villain, without success.
