Forrest Gump is a good movie, but it doesn't deserve to be on anybody but a Jerry's kid's top ten list.
Definitely not on my top ten.  But I hate the people that hate it.  It definitely has enough good moments, an interesting enough story and other things to make a good flick.

The name Robert Zemeckis brings out hatred and he directed it. I always found the hate of him odd. He did Back to the Future and Contact! Great movies. I also have a soft spot for his rip-off of Indiana Jones with Michael Douglas.

A. He didn't write clockwork.
B. It was based on the american version of clockwork orange, which the writer of clockwork said was bastardized.
C. The story wasn't that good imo.
D. Now you're going to say that I overanalyzed it and that pd would fall under the group underanalyzing it.

So what if he didn't write Clockwork? he didn't write 2001 or many of his other movies either.

He wrote the screenplay for Clockwork, and the version of the book he based it on was hardly "bastardized": it was missing the last, unnecessary chapter.

If you didn't write it then you really didn't do shit.

which is where everything comes together for the main character...fucking idiot.

spoiler (click to show/hide)
Maybe if the story wasn't so shitty people would be more pissed at the last chapter missing?

Himu: I'm pretty sure A Bronx Tale is the movie with the annoying kid actor. He plays De Niro's son.

Forrest Gump is not my favorite movie - To Kill a Mockingbird is. It's not my second favorite movie either - Imitation of Life is. But it's definitely in my top 10, and I simply love it. I still remember the first time I saw it; my eyes teared up at the end. That was the first time I had been touched by a movie in that way. On a happier note it was also the first movie I began quoting - at one point I could quote the entire first 10min of the movie because I had seen it so many times.

It's special to me so stfu people who rag on it.

Everything doesn't come together for the character in that last chapter, and you would know had you read the book. Its an epilogue more than anything; the Kubrick version simply makes the ending more ambigious than flat-out spelling it out for tards like you.

That's funny, I thought the book was supposed to have some sort of important philosophy in it.

Goodfellas is the most authentic mob movie ever, But my favorite is The Godfather Part II.
