JoshuJSloane is a bit questionable as far as feeling the need to keep profiles of people, but he's not bad in the sense that he goes around trolling the shit out of threads or just simply acting like a douchebag.
Someone tried to deflect by saying that Blizzard hasnt made any new IPs in the last 10 years either.
Great comparison.
Nintendo vs a company that releases 1 game every 5 years or so.
Wait, why not though? I mean, the established series that Nintendo does have, like Mario, Zelda, Smash, Mario Kart, etc. all take gigantic teams to create. Even someone with Nintendo's reserves can't just go around making a new game with a 70 man team.
Wario Ware is probably one of the worst things Nintendo came up with this decade. The only thing I think is worse is Animal Crossing and Wii Music.
I liked the first one and twisted. They were inventive novelties. Game makers (and not just Nintendo) need to realize that when they make a novelty-type game that becomes a hit, you need to go easy on the milking. Nothing wears out more quickly than something that has nothing beyond the novelty factor.
This is one of the weird things I noticed with the way Nintendo handles business. They'll take something like Wario Ware, which turns out to be a hit, but not anywhere near their other big properties, and milk the shit out of it. I don't get the rationale behind that because you're milking something that wasn't 'that' popular, and as a result, it has a shorter milking shelf life if you continue doing so. You would think they'd be doing it with Marios and Zeldas. Not that I would want that, necessarily. I know why they don't do that, part of it has to do with quality control, but there are cases like with SMG where Nintendo will just sit on the idea for years, without actually even starting development.
