let me amend that: the goal is to "win" these engagements, right? to feel some sense of closure or satisfaction at stickin' it to your critics, haters, and general "dickriders," right? no point in being opinionated if your opponents are gonna be the one dictating the pace of your responses, after all!
you could do a lot more damage and scare a lot more e-bullies if you'd disengage quicker and be a bit more patient. my personal rules as one of the foremost fuckfaces to ever bust out the collateral damage on gaf is to a) never give the people more than they actually deserve; b) keep the pacing of the rejoinders on your own schedule (i.e. wait a couple days until they get comfortable and feel a little relief, then bust a big one on their faces); and c) never, ever, get too emotionally attached to the idea of victory, because victory is not determined by the credibility of one's claims but rather how well you play the audience; and the audience may have simply had enough of your shit, no matter how some might side with you. also, there's the old but true rule that as a flamewar goes on, the attrition becomes so high that either party's chances of a perceived victory are reduced to zero. and there's nothing -- NOTHING -- sadder than someone claiming victory after a protracted flamewar, because everyone knows that BOTH SIDES LOST.
but what do i know? i'm just another internet asshole. i like you, corny, because you know how to take people down with you, but honestly, going down in the gutter with the oa vermin is not even a pyrrhic victory -- it's just SAD. it's like kobe getting dogpiled by a bunch of pimply white kids on a parking lot court. rockstars don't typically play in shit venues.
